The National Library of Wales, in Aberystwyth, is the national legal deposit library of Wales and is one of the Welsh Government sponsored bodies. It is the biggest library in Wales, holding over 6.5 million books and periodicals, and the largest collections of archives, portraits, maps, and photographic images in Wales. The Library is also home to the national collection of Welsh manuscripts, the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales, and the most comprehensive collection of paintings and topographical prints in Wales. As the primary research library and archive in Wales and one of the largest research libraries in the United Kingdom, the National Library is a member of Research Libraries UK (RLUK) and the Consortium of European Research Libraries (CERL).

Rhodri Glyn Thomas is a Welsh politician. He was the Plaid Cymru National Assembly for Wales Member for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr from 1999 to 2016, when he did not re-stand for election. Following his retirement from the Assembly he was appointed President of the National Library of Wales.
The Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion, often called simply the Cymmrodorion, is a London-based Welsh learned society, with membership open to all. It was first established in 1751 as a social, cultural, literary and philanthropic institution. It fell into abeyance between 1787 and 1820, and again between 1843 and 1873. In its second and third incarnations its interests have been predominantly cultural and antiquarian. The present society claims continuity from that founded in 1751, although the three successive societies have in fact been slightly different in character and aims.

The Reverend David Rees was a Welsh Congregational minister of Capel Als chapel Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, and an editor of a radical Welsh language Nonconformist periodical titled Y Diwygiwr. Welsh Book Studies / Llyfr yng Nghymru publishes academic and critical articles about past and current publishing in Wales. The magazine was first published in 1998. It contains English and Welsh material. It is published by Canolfan y Llyfr Aberystwyth Centre for the Book, a joint venture between the National Library of Wales, the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and the Welsh Books Council, formed in 1997.
Gower: Journal of the Gower Society is an English-language annual magazine containing articles, photographs, and news relating to the archaeology, history, natural history, and landscape of the Gower Peninsula. It was established in 1948 and is published by the Gower Society. The magazine has been digitized by the Welsh Journals Online project at the National Library of Wales.
