Yad Leah is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization [1] which sends clothing to poor families in Israel. It was founded in 2004 [2] by Passaic resident Jessica Katz and Beitar Illit resident Karen Milch Thaler. [3] It distributes tens of thousands of articles of clothing to over 25 communities annually, selling them for a nominal fee. [2] [4] Yad Leah has a volunteer center located in Passaic, NJ where volunteers can pack and sort donated clothing. [4]

Yad Sarah is the largest national volunteer organization in Israel. Employing over 6,000 volunteers, with a salaried staff of 150, Yad Sarah serves over 350,000 clients each year. It is best known for its free loans of over 244,000 pieces of medical and rehabilitative home-care equipment annually, enabling sick, disabled, elderly and recuperating patients to live at home. This saves the country's economy an estimated $320 million in hospital fees and long-term care costs each year.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Emergency Communities</span>

Emergency Communities was a volunteer organization which formed after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. It provided meals and other relief to residents and emergency responders, first in Mississippi, then in Louisiana. Emergency Communities ran sites in St. Bernard Parish, Plaquemines Parish, and Orleans Parish's Lower Ninth Ward, and then closed its doors on Thanksgiving of 2007. Nonprofit organization lowernine.org took the reins with regard to Emergency Communities' rebuild work, and continues to work on Eldorado Street rebuilding homes for residents of this devastated community. As of June 2009, lowernine.org has rebuilt twenty homes, in addition to working on hundreds of projects large and small across the community.

Tomchei Shabbos is the name for several Jewish charities in different communities, which are not all affiliated with one another. The Hebrew name means "supporters of the Sabbath." Yad Eliezer is a Jewish poverty-relief organization in Israel. It is best known for its monthly distribution of thousands of family food packages, baby formula and baby food packages. It also provides a range of financial and rehabilitative support services, including the mentoring of boys from single-parent families and free or low-cost weddings at its wedding complex in Givat Shaul, Jerusalem. Founded as a small, neighborhood chesed organization, it is now one of the largest poverty-relief organizations in Israel, with over 12,000 volunteers. Led by Orthodox Jewish management, it provides services for both religious and secular families in Israel.

Yad Ezra V'Shulamit is a Jewish charity organization located in Israel. Founded in 1998, its mission is to feed poor and hungry families in Israel, with a special focus on providing daily hot meals for children. It distributes thousands of food baskets each week to poor Israeli families, provides daily hot lunches for children, runs annual clothing and school supply drives, and operates a job desk for unemployed adults. The motto of the organization is "Breaking the Cycle of Poverty, One Child at a Time".
