Yagnam (English: The Offering) is a 1991 Indian Telugu-language social problem film [ citation needed ] directed by Gutha Ramineedu based on a 1964 play by Kalipatnam Ramarao. [1] The film has garnered the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor, and the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film. [2] [3] The film won two Nandi Awards.

Plot

The film deals with the life of a poor farmer (P. L. Narayana) and his dysfunctional family. The farmer sacrifices his own son (Bhanu Chander) as an offering to overcome his debt.

Kota Srinivasa Rao is an Indian character actor known for his work primarily in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. He has also starred in a few films in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. As a former politician, Rao has served as the MLA from Vijayawada East in Andhra Pradesh, India from 1999 to 2004. He made his debut with the Telugu film Pranam Khareedu in 1978. He starred in over 750 feature films. He has received nine state Nandi Awards in various categories of villain, character actor, and supporting actor. The film depicts the life of Alluri Sitarama Raju, an Indian revolutionary, who is known for his role in the Rampa Rebellion of 1922–24. Seetarama Raju, with a band of farmers, tribal leaders and other sympathizers, fought an armed rebellion against the British Raj in response to repressive legislation passed in 1882.

Neti Bharatam is a 1983 film written and directed by T. Krishna and produced by Eetharam Films. It is a musical hit film promoting liberal ideals. Lyrics for the songs were penned by revolutionary poet Srirangam Srinivasa Rao, Adrushta Deepak who was then an unknown lyricist, and music scored by K. Chakravarthy. The movie is most famous for the song "Maanavatvam Parimalinche", which got the lyricist Adrushta Deepak noticed. Suman and Vijayashanti played lead roles, with Nagabhushanam and Rajyalakshmi in assisting roles. The film was remade in Kannada as Indina Bharatha, Hindi as Haqeeqat (1985) and in Tamil as Puthiya Theerppu (1985). The film won six Nandi Awards.

Maa Inti Mahalakshmi is a 1959 Indian Telugu-language family drama film directed by Gutha Ramineedu and written by Kotayya Pratyagatma. It features Jamuna and Haranath in the lead roles. The was produced by Parvathaneni Gangadhara Rao and the music was composed by G. Aswathama, while M. K. Raja and Akkineni Sanjeevi handled cinematography and editing respectively. Iy was the first Telugu film to be shot entirely in Hyderabad.
