Yann Beuron (born 1969) is a French operatic tenor.
Yann Beuron studied at the Conservatoire de Paris where he won first prize in singing and graduated in 1996. [1] He made his debut in 1995 at the Opéra national du Rhin in 1995 in the role of Belmonte in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail and his Paris Opera debut in Hippolyte et Aricie by Rameau in 1996. [2] Yann Beuron is particularly associated with the music of Mozart and French music and has appeared as Pelléas in Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande in numerous European opera houses. [2] Yann Beuron has also appeared in a number of highly acclaimed productions of Offenbach operettas directed by Laurent Pelly, including the role of Orpheus in Orphée aux enfers in Geneva in 1997, [3] Paris in La belle Hélène at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris in 2000, Fritz in La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein, in 2004, also at the Châtelet, and as Fridolin XXIV in Le roi Carotte at the Opéra de Lyon in 2015, [2] all of which were filmed and televised.
In June 2020 Beuron announced that he would be retiring from the opera stage [4] and this was confirmed after he sang Don Pelage in the world premiere in Paris of Manoel de Oliveira's Le Soulier de satin, based on the 1943 play by Paul Claudel. [5]

Marie-Nicole Lemieux, C.M., C.Q. is a Canadian coloratura contralto. She first came to the world's attention in 2000 when she became the first Canadian to win first prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in Belgium. Since then Lemieux has established herself as one of the finest contraltos currently singing on the classical music stage, appearing with some of the world's best orchestras and singing with many great opera companies. Lemieux is admired for possessing an unusually flexible and beautiful contralto voice that does not have the heaviness that is often associated with her particular voice type. For this reason, Lemieux has become a favourite among lovers of Baroque opera and she is noted for her portrayal of characters in the operas of Handel and Vivaldi in particular. Her voice is admired for its richness, warmth and resonance and for its expressiveness and use of many different tone colours. Lemieux is also praised by critics for her stage presence and communicative power.
Jean (Alexis) Périer was a French operatic baryton-martin and actor. Although he sang principally within the operetta repertoire, Périer did portray a number of opera roles; mostly within operas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Giacomo Puccini. His career was almost entirely centered in Paris and he had a long association with the Opéra-Comique. He sang in a large number of world premieres, most notably originating the role of Pelléas in Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande in 1902. In addition to his opera career, Périer appeared in several films between 1900 and 1938.
Félix Vieuille was a French operatic bass who sang for more than four decades with the Opéra-Comique in Paris during the first half of the twentieth century. He created roles in numerous world premieres, most notably portraying Arkel in the original production of Claude Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande in 1902 which he went on to sing 208 times at that house. He possessed a rich voice and a solid technique which helped sustain his career for a long time. His voice is preserved on a number of recordings made on the Odeon, Lyrophon, and Beka labels.

During a stage career spanning 40 years, he created many leading baritone roles, including Zurga in Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles and Ourrias in Gounod's Mireille. Born in Le Passage d'Agen near the town of Agen, he was largely self-taught and made his stage debut in 1841 at the age of 16. After singing in several provincial theatres, he was engaged by the Théâtre Lyrique in Paris and later by the Opéra-Comique. Following his retirement from the stage, Ismaël lived in Marseille where he died at the age of 68.
