Year of the Artist (YOTA) was a nationwide scheme organised by the ten English Regional Arts Boards to fund residencies by artists in new and unusual settings. The scheme ran from June 2000 to May 2001 and had the slogan "1,000 artists in 1,000 places". Work commissioned includes the Willow Man sculpture located by the M5 motorway in Somerset. [1]

Willow warbler

The willow warbler is a very common and widespread leaf warbler which breeds throughout northern and temperate Europe and the Palearctic, from Ireland east to the Anadyr River basin in eastern Siberia. It is strongly migratory, with almost all of the population wintering in Sub-Saharan Africa.

M7 motorway (Ireland)

The M7 motorway is a motorway in Ireland. The motorway runs continuously from the outskirts of Naas in County Kildare to Rossbrien on the outskirts of Limerick City. The M7 forms part of the Dublin to Limerick N7 national primary road. The section of the motorway bypassing Naas, an 8 km stretch, was the first section of motorway to open in the Republic of Ireland, in 1983. Following substantial works to extend the M7 to Limerick; by the end of 2010, the motorway replaced all of the old single-carriageway N7 route which is now designated as R445. At 166.5 km, the M7 is the longest motorway in Ireland.

The Willow Creek/Southwest 185th Avenue Transit Center is a light rail station and transit center on the MAX Blue Line in Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. <i>Willow Man</i> Outdoor sculpture in Somerset, England

Willow Man is a large outdoor sculpture by Serena de la Hey. It is in a field to the West of the M5 motorway, near Bridgwater in Somerset, South West England, near to the Bristol to Exeter railway line and south of junction 23 of the motorway. It stands 40 feet (12 m), with a 16-foot (5 m) arm span, and is made of black maul willow withies woven over a 3-tonne steel frame.

He is the first hostile character encountered by the Hobbits after they leave the Shire.

Craig Hayes is a visual effects artist. He was nominated at the 73rd Academy Awards for his work on the film Hollow Man. He shared his nomination with Scott E. Anderson, Stan Parks and Scott Stokdyk.

Someday at Christmas (song) 2021 single by Stevie Wonder

"Someday at Christmas" is a song by American singer Stevie Wonder, from his first Christmas album and same-titled eighth studio album (1967). Written by Ron Miller and Bryan Wells, it was produced by Henry Crosby. Initially released as a standalone single in 1966, it led to the recording of its parent album which was issued a year later. Described retrospectively as "a modern holiday classic", "Someday at Christmas" has since been covered by several artists, including Wonder himself whose 2015 duet version with Andra Day, recorded for an Apple TV commercial, re-entered the charts.
