Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev was the King of Nepal from 13 March 1955 until his death in 1972,which was due to heart attack as told in an interview by his personal physician Dr. Mrigendra Raj Pandey. Following the 1960 coup d'état,he established the partyless Panchayat system which governed the country for 28 years until the introduction of multiparty democracy in 1990. The Thakali are an ethnolinguistic Tibeto-Burman ethnic group of Nepal. The traditional area of the Thakali community is called Thak-sat-se or the Thak Khola region and lies in the Kali Gandaki River valley in the Mustang District,Gandaki Province in western Nepal. According to the 2001 census,the Thakali population of around 12,973 constituted only 0.06% of Nepal's population. By the 2011 Nepal census,there were 13,215 Thakali people in Nepal.

Shakti Prasad Gauchan is a Nepalese former professional cricketer. An all-rounder,Shakti is a right-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox spinner. He made his debut for Nepal against Oman in July 2002. In July 2018,he announced that he would retire from international cricket after the conclusion of Netherlands tour. In August 2018,he retired after playing the first ODI of the tour. In December 2018,he retired from all forms of cricket.
Motiram Bhatta (1866–1896) was a Nepalese poet,singer,essayist,publisher,literary critic and biographer. He is considered the first biographer and literary critic of Nepali literature and is credited for starting the first private printing press in Nepal in c. 1888. He also introduced the Ghazal style of poetry and singing in Nepal. Bhatta was a polyglot and alongside Nepali,he had studied in Sanskrit,Persian,English and was also proficient in Bengali,Urdu and Nepal Bhasa.
Sompal Kami is a Nepalese professional cricketer. Kami is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He is one of the eleven cricketers to play in Nepal's first ever One Day International (ODI) match,against the Netherlands,in August 2018. In January 2019,he became the first bowler for Nepal to take a five-wicket haul in an ODI match.

Rastriya Panchayat was the official legislature (parliament) during the Panchayat regime of Nepal that effectively functioned from 1960 to 1990. Retd.Lt.ColonelBharat Gurung had served as the RoyalA.D.C. to Late Prince Dhirendra Shah of Nepal in the 1980s until his imprisonment in 1987 for his involvement in drug trafficking and smuggling. Gurung was prosecuted along with Bhim Prasad Gauchan and DB Lama on seven accounts,earning him a twenty-year sentence in jail and a fine of several millions of rupees. He was found guilty of connivance in the attempted murder of a journalist,drug trafficking,illegal foreign exchange transactions,unauthorized possession of weapons,and gold and watch smuggling. The prosecution established that about 1,500 bars of gold,5,500 watches and 90 pistol bullets were found in his possession.

Jampa Lhakang Monastery(Nepali:जाम्पालाकान्गगुम्बा,Thubchen Gumba or Gompa),also called Maitreya Temple,is a Buddhist monastery located in Lo Manthang,Upper Mustang in Nepal. It was thought to be built in the 11th century AD but later verified to be built in the 15th century AD and contains the world's largest collection of mandalas painted on its walls. The earthquake of April 2015 severely damaged these paintings and 500-year-old frescos of the floors. American Himalayan Foundation and Lo Gyalpo Jigme Cultural Conservation Foundation is helping to recover these damages.
Usha Sherchan is a Nepalese poet,lyricist and writer. She has published three collections of poetry,a collection of short stories and a novel. She has also written lyrics for five music albums. She writes about various social and feminism issues in her poems and stories. She is one of the few writers in Nepal who writes stories about queer people.
