Dr. Yogesh Lakhani is an Indian entrepreneur and the founder and chairman of Bright Outdoor Media Limited, one of India's leading out-of-home (OOH) advertising companies. With over four decades in the advertising industry, he is recognized for pioneering large-scale OOH campaigns across Mumbai and expanding into Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) formats. He is known for his contributions to the advertising, entertainment, and event industries.
Lakhani began his career in Mumbai with a humble background, working various jobs after completing his education up to the 10th standard. In 1980, he founded Bright Outdoor Media with a single hoarding, gradually expanding operations across the city. His early clients included local businesses and film production houses, and his reputation for dependable execution helped him establish a foothold in the competitive Mumbai media market.
Founded in 1980, Bright Outdoor Media grew under Lakhani's leadership to become one of India's most prominent outdoor advertising companies. The company owns and manages over 1,000 hoardings across Mumbai, including prime locations like Marine Drive, Bandra, Haji Ali, and Juhu. Its services include billboards, transit media, gantries, kiosks, and digital LED displays.
In 2023, Bright Outdoor Media became one of the first OOH companies in India to go public, listing on the BSE SME platform through an IPO. The public issue was oversubscribed and raised ₹55.48 crore.
Bright has since expanded into Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) advertising, installing LED gantries and digital billboards in high-traffic zones, including Bandra station and Mumbai's monorail routes. The company manages over 300,000 square feet of LED media and has been associated with major events, film promotions, political campaigns, and brand launches.
Under Lakhani's leadership, Bright Outdoor Media has supported various social initiatives including blood donation camps, financial assistance for dialysis patients, aid to tribal villages, and educational material distribution for underprivileged students.
