Dewayne Battle (born December 24, 1970), [1] known professionally as Young Zee, is an American underground hip hop emcee. He is a member of the Outsidaz, alongside Pacewon and Rah Digga. [2]

Career

Outsidaz

The Outsidaz, a large hip hop crew that became the first act signed to Ruff Life Records, produced several singles and released a record in the mid-'90s. The group including Young Zee had guest vocals on the Fugees' song "Cowboys" in 1996. Zee made an appearance on Rah Digga's first solo album in 1999. The group released Night Life (2000) and The Bricks (2001). In 2002 his solo track, "That's My Nigga fo' Real", was included on the hit soundtrack to Eminem's film 8 Mile. [3]

Solo artist

Due to a history of collaboration, Zee and fans expected him to be signed to Eminem's Shady Records label under Aftermath/Interscope records, but instead he signed as a solo artist to D12 members Kuniva and Kon Artis' label Runyon Ave Records, but he made the only related appearance in "Commercial Break" on D12 World.[ citation needed ]

In 2005, Young Zee appeared on Casual's Smash Rockwell album. In 2009, he was featuring on Chicago rap duo Saurus and Bones's debut album Mind Like Mine . Zee collaborated with The Dirty Dozen on their 2011 mixtape Return Of The Dozen Vol. 2. Also in 2011, he performed on Jedi Mind Tricks's Violence Begets Violence album. In 2012, Young Zee and Mr. Green released One Crazy Weekend featuring former Outsidaz members.

Personal life

He had a relationship with fellow rapper Rah Digga. [4] The couple has a daughter named Sativa, born in 1997. [5] Young Zee has a son, Krash Battle (born on September 9, 1992), [6] who is also a rapper.

Bad Meets Evil is an American hip hop duo composed of Detroit-based rappers Royce da 5'9" (Bad) and Eminem (Evil). Bad Meets Evil was formed in 1998, thanks to the duo's mutual friend, Proof. The group's name comes from the song "Bad Meets Evil" on The Slim Shady LP in 1999, which featured Royce da 5'9". Their discography consists of one extended play (EP) and four singles. In 1999, the duo released a double non-album single, "Nuttin' to Do" and "Scary Movies"; the former peaked at 36 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, while the latter peaked at 63 on the UK Singles Chart and was featured on the soundtrack of the 2000 horror comedy parody film Scary Movie.

"Fight Music" is a hip hop single by the rap group D12 from their debut album Devil's Night. The song features various lyrics about violence and dangerous street fighting except in two verses: Bizarre's, which features various graphic subjects, namely oral sex with his grandmother, and Eminem's, which talks about the youth, how they feel and how they relate with this song and other songs. The song was produced by Dr. Dre. "Fight Music" is also included on the greatest hits disc of Shady Records' 15th anniversary compilation, Shady XV, which was released on November 24, 2014. The song was also used as an outro in the 2012 movie Project X.

The Bricks is the second studio album by American rap group the Outsidaz. It was released on June 19, 2001 via Rufflife Records. The record featured guest appearances from Method Man, Redman and Kelis. Audio production was handled by Rockwilder, Mr. Porter, Young Zee, DJ Twinz, Hotrunner, Gov Mattic, Self-Service, with Chris Schwartz served as executive producer. The Bricks peaked at number 68 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, number 48 on the Top Heatseekers and number 29 on the Independent Albums charts.

Night Life is the debut EP by American New Jersey-based rap group the Outsidaz. It was released on January 18, 2000, via Rufflife Records. Audio production of the seven-track record was handled by Jim Jonsin, Ski, and few members of the band, with Chris Schwartz served as executive producer.

Jerome Derek Hinds Jr., known professionally as Pacewon, is an American rapper and producer. He rose to fame in the late 1990s as one of the prominent and founding members of rap group Outsidaz along with fellow rappers Young Zee, D.U., Slang Ton, Lil boyzazz, Loon, Axe, Yah Yah, Rah Digga and others. The group would later make Detroit rappers Eminem and Bizarre of D12 honorary members of the group after they collaborated with members of the group.

Marvin Eugene O'Neal, professionally known by his stage name Marv Won, is an American rapper and record producer from east side Detroit, Michigan. He is a member of underground hip hop group the Fat Killahz and rap duo Twin Towers. In 2021, he received a Detroit Music Award nomination for Outstanding Rap MC at the 30th Detroit Music Awards.

<i>Musical Meltdown</i> 0000 studio album by Young Zee

Musical Meltdown is the debut album of American rapper Young Zee. Originally released as a promotional cassette by Perspective Records in 1996, the album was not commercially released until April 28, 2015, when it was re-issued by independent label Gentleman's Relief Records. The CD format features full liner notes about the making and re-discovery of the album, while the cassette format is limited to 100 copies. It has been compared to other previously-shelved hip hop albums, such as Kamaal the Abstract by Q-Tip, Center of Attention by INI, and The Original Baby Pa by Deda.
