The Youngstown Symphony is a symphony orchestra based in Youngstown, Ohio. Based in downtown Youngstown's Powers Auditorium, the symphony has been performing classical music for Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley since 1925. Randall Craig Fleischer was the Music Director until his death in 2020.

Performance season

The Youngstown Symphony performs ten concerts annually, from October through May. They perform a combination of "masterworks series" and "pops series" concerts. In addition to these concerts, the Symphony performs Young People's Concerts for school children, as well as a concert for preschoolers, called Storytime in School Music.

Youngstown Symphony Society

The Youngstown Symphony Society is an organization of area residents who donate to the Society Operating Fund. The Society sponsors Symphony events, promotes the symphony, volunteers with the symphony and its other projects, and assists with the symphony's future plans.

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) is a Canadian orchestra based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The VSO performs at the Orpheum, which has been the orchestra's permanent home since 1977. With an annual operating budget of $16 million, it is the third largest symphony orchestra in Canada and the largest performing arts organization in Western Canada. It performs 140 concerts per season. The VSO broadcasts annually on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. The orchestra is affiliated with the VSO School of Music, which was established in September 2011. Chamber music concerts by VSO musicians take place at Pyatt Hall on the VSO School of Music campus.

Powers Auditorium United States historic place

Powers Auditorium, in Youngstown, Ohio is one of the largest auditoriums in the Youngstown-Warren area. The facility is the main venue of downtown Youngstown's DeYor Performing Arts Center. The complex also includes the Adler Art Academy, Beecher Flad Pavilion, and Ford Family Recital Hall. Originally built in 1931 as the Warner Theatre, the former movie palace was renovated and reopened as Powers Auditorium in 1969.

American Symphony Orchestra

The American Symphony Orchestra is a New York-based American orchestra founded in 1962 by Leopold Stokowski whose mission is to demystify orchestral music and make it accessible and affordable for all audiences. Leon Botstein is the orchestra's music director and principal conductor. They perform regularly at Carnegie Hall and Symphony Space in New York City. Its concertmaster is Erica Kiesewetter.
