Starting with this album, Hisashi Imai started using the theremin in their sound. Like their previous album, Sexy Stream Liner is very influenced by the cyberpunk subculture.

The title comes from lyrics to "Cyborg Dolly: Sora-mimi: Phantom", which also mentions cloning sheep and is named after the famous Dolly. It reached number eleven on the Oricon chart with 30,170 copies sold. Starting from this album, Hisashi Imai started using computers when composing and he stated that he struggled to produce the sound he imagined.

The limited edition came with a DVD of the music videos for the singles "Rendezvous" and "Alice in Wonder Underground". Tenshi no Revolver peaked at number five on the Oricon chart with 23,114 copies sold. For the album Buck-Tick went for a "band sound," the sound of an ordinary straight rock band.

It finished 4th on the Oricon weekly chart, and also Billboard Japan, with 18,376 copies sold. The album was created with a concept of surrealism and features many references to Dada, Avant-garde, the Cabaret Voltaire and others. According to Hisashi Imai, the title of the album is actually a subtitle only, the main title is a long blank space, indicating that "it is something that cannot be seen, heard, read, or written. Impossible to pronounce. A thing that is not metaphysical."

The 2020 J.League Cup Final was an association football match between Kashiwa Reysol and FC Tokyo on 4 January 2021 at Japan National Stadium. It was the 28th edition J.League Cup, organised by the J.League. Kashiwa Reysol were playing in their third J.League Cup final after winning the competition in both of their finals appearances in 1999 and 2013. FC Tokyo were also playing in their third J.League Cup final, following victories in 2004 and 2009.
