Yusuph Adebola Olaniyonu is a journalist, lawyer and public administrator, who serves as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President of the Nigeria Senate, Bukola Saraki. [1]

Early life and education

Yusuph Olaniyonu was born in Lagos on July 30, 1966. He was educated at the then Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta (now known as Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) between 1983 and 1988 and emerged as the best graduating student of the Department of Mass Communication. [2]

He later earned a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) Degree from the Lagos State University (2005), was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006 as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and then went on to earn the Master of Law (LL.M) Degree (2010) from the University of Lagos. He had earlier earned a Master of Communication Arts (M.C.A) from the University of Ibadan (1998).[ citation needed ]

Professional career

Olaniyonu joined THISDAY newspaper in June 1997 as the Political Editor of the highly influential national newspaper and contributed many reports, analyses and commentaries on political issues, particularly during the prolonged transition Programme that led to the present democracy in Nigeria. He later served briefly as Group News Editor before he left in 1999 to join The Comet newspaper as Political Editor.

Early in 2002, Olaniyonu returned to THISDAY as Deputy Editor of the SUNDAY newspaper, served in the same capacity for the daily newspaper before moving on to become the Editor of the Sunday newspaper in November 2005. He became Chairman of the Editorial Board of the newspaper group in 2011. A few months after, he was appointed Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Ogun State. [3]

Two weeks after serving out his term as Commissioner in May 2015, he was appointed Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to Saraki and has remained on the job till date. [4]

Reuben Adeleye Abati is a Nigerian Journalist, Politician, Television Anchor and Newspaper Columnist. Folorunsho Coker is a Nigerian businessman, politician and director general of Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation since March 2017. Coker was the chief executive officer of Brown Restaurant and La Casa Group prior to his appointment as commissioner for tourism, Arts & Culture. He initiated the revocation of the NTDC Act of 1992. The new law has been passed to law by the Senate awaiting concurrence from Nigerian House of Representatives. Coker led administration at NTDC also partnered Google Nigeria for the digitization of tourism sights and street view with the hope of deepening the positive digital story of the Nigerian tourism industry. As Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, in Lagos state, he organized “One Lagos Fiesta” a 5day event held in five different locations in Lagos as a mark of promoting Nigeria culture through music and other forms of entertainment. In 2018, with the partnership of Kano State Government, he initiated the proposed implementation of Kano/Durbar repackaging plan. He also started the repackaging of the Iri Ji Yam Festival, Anambra, Ogidi Ijumu Festival, Kogi and Osun-Osogbo Festival, Osun. He started his education at Corona College Obalende before travelling to UK in 1992 where he attended St. Bees School, Cumbria. He holds a bachelor's degree in combined studies, Economic and Geography from Manchester University. He obtained postgraduates degrees in diplomacy. International trade and finance the University of Westminster where he finished with distinction. In his time as the Director-General of NTDC, P.M. News reported, "The Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) on Wednesday bagged Best Tourism Marketing Agency of the year 2019 at the Gala/Award Night of Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo."

Bolaji Abdullahi Ganiyu is a Nigerian politician, journalist, and writer from Ilorin, Kwara State. He served in the cabinet of the ex-Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, as the Honourable Minister of Youth Development in July 2011, and as the Minister of Sports till 2014. He was also the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (2016-2018). He is the author of Sweet Sixteen, which was adopted by the JAMB/UME 2019–2020; and On A Platter of Gold-How Jonathan Won and Lost Nigeria. He ran for office as Senator to represent Kwara Central Senatorial District in Nigeria's upper legislative chamber.
