The League of Communists of Slovenia was the Slovenian branch of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, the sole legal party of Yugoslavia from 1945 to 1989. It was established in April 1937 as the Communist Party of Slovenia, as the first autonomous sub-national branch of the Yugoslav Communist Party. Its initial autonomy was further amplified with the Yugoslav constitution of 1974, which devolved greater power to the various republic level branches.

Zygmunt Steuermann (1899–1941) was a Polish football player and one of the most renowned members of the Hasmonea Lwów Football Club. Born February 5, 1899 in Sambor, then in Austro-Hungarian Galicia, Steuermann was a member of a Polonized Jewish family. Already at the age of 12 he joined the local Korona Sambor. During World War I he fled to Vienna, where he continued his training in a variety of sport clubs, including Gersthof Wien, Germania Wien and Amateure Wien. After the war he returned to Poland and in 1920 started a semi-professional career in Korona Sambor. During the following year he moved to Lwów, where he joined the ŻKS Lwów sports club. In 1923 he was transferred to Hasmonea Lwów, the most important Jewish football club in Poland and one of the four Lwów-based clubs playing in the first league. He remained one of the most notable players of that club until 1932, when he joined Legia Warsaw.
The Socialist Republic of Slovenia was one of the six republics forming the post-World War II country of Yugoslavia. It existed under various names from its creation on 29 November 1945 until 25 June 1991. In 1990, while the country was still a part of the Yugoslav federation, the League of Communists of Slovenia allowed for the establishment of other political parties, which led to the democratization of the country.
Polonia Bydgoszcz is a Polish sports club based in Bydgoszcz most known for its speedway team ŻKS Polonia Bydgoszcz which currently race in the 2. Liga. The club has won the Polish Speedway League Championship seven times, the latest in 2002, and European Team Championship three times, the latest in 2001. The club also has a football team who play in the lower leagues but in the past had more success.
