A super cup is a competition, usually but not exclusively in association football, which often forms the 'curtain raiser' to a season, and typically involves only two teams who have qualified through success in other competitions during the previous season.

The Belgian Cup is the main knockout football competition in Belgium, run by the Royal Belgian FA. The competition started in 1908 with provincial selections as the "Belgian Provinces Cup". Since the 2015–16 edition, the Belgian Cup is called the Croky Cup, for sponsorship purposes. The final traditionally takes place at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels.

The Royal Dutch Swimming Federation is the official governing body for swimming, in the Netherlands. The federation overlooks several other sports including competition swimming, open water swimming, water polo, diving and synchronized swimming. The federation is based in Nieuwegein and affiliated with the national sports body NOC*NSF. The responsibility of the KNZB is to organize and track various events. When a new organization from one of the water sports joins the KNZB they can participate in the competitions governed by the KNZB. They will then be placed on a ranking list.

The match is played by the champions of the Dutch Basketball League and the winner of the NBB Cup. It is a super cup competition. The first Supercup game was held in 2011.

The 2017–18 NBB Cup was the 50th edition of the Netherlands' national basketball cup tournament. Donar was the defending champion. Donar successfully defended its title, after beating runners-up ZZ Leiden in the Final. The Final was played on 25 March 2018 in MartiniPlaza in Groningen.
The 2019 Dutch Basketball Supercup was the 8th edition of the Dutch Basketball Supercup. The game was played in the Landstede Sportcentrum in Zwolle for the first time.
