Zachary Scot Johnson is an American singer-songwriter, born in 1982 in Racine, Wisconsin, United States. [1] He attended Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin from 2001 through 2006, where he was a triple major student in Music Performance, Theatre Arts and Psychology. [2] He released his first album, Moment of Clarity in 2004, and followed that up with To Whom It May Concern in 2008, Live At The Guild in 2010, "Sad Songs" in 2017 and his self-titled record "Zachary Scot Johnson" in 2023. [3] He has lived in or near Saint Paul, Minnesota for a number of years and performs locally with regularity. [4]

He has toured consistently since 2001 and opened for artists such as Shawn Colvin, Keb' Mo', Kevin Costner, Rita Wilson, The Be Good Tanyas, Jane Siberry, Don Williams, Marc Cohn and Juliette Lewis. [5]

Thesongadayproject

Starting in 2012, Zach began a YouTube channel entitled Thesongadayproject. [6] On the channel, he records a song every day. The channel hit its 1000th consecutive day on June 2, 2015, with a duet with Jeremy Messersmith on a Sia song, "Chandelier". [7] The channel hit its 2000th consecutive day on February 26, 2018, with a duet with Gretchen Peters on her song "Five Minutes". [8] The channel is still currently running. Johnson records both original compositions and cover songs of favorite artists. The channel has more than 42 million total views over the first 4, 000 days. [9] Johnson has also invited many artists to perform duets with him. Among the more than 250 artists to appear at this point are Donovan, Shawn Colvin, Rosanne Cash, Marc Cohn, Rodney Crowell, Jeff Daniels, Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary, Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary, Creed Bratton of The Office , Gaelic Storm, Tom Paxton, Lisa Loeb, J.D. Souther, Melissa Manchester, Nellie McKay, Kris Allen, David Wilcox, Collective Soul, Paula Cole, Richie Furay, Mary Gauthier and many more. [10]

It occasionally contained live tracks recorded from local concerts in the Twin Cities. It was released annually during the holidays from 1989 to 2018. New volumes would appear each November at local Target stores in time for Christmas gifts. In later years the sampler was also available on Target.com. 1000 Forms of Fear is the sixth studio album by Australian singer Sia. It was released on 4 July 2014 by Monkey Puzzle and RCA Records worldwide, and Inertia Records in Australia. Primarily an electropop album, the record also incorporates influences from reggae and hip hop. Lyrically, the record is focused on Sia struggling to deal with drug addiction and a diagnosis of bipolar disorder at the time, later rediagnosed as complex PTSD in 2019.

Thesongadayproject is an undertaking that was created by the American singer-songwriter Zachary Scot Johnson in September 2012. The first day, featured a cover version of Donovan's "Catch The Wind". Johnson set out with a goal to record a song a day, every day, for as long as he could. As of December, 2023, Johnson has uploaded over 4, 000 songs, spanning over eleven full years, and has accumulated over 42 million views.
