Zalam Kot Twin Tube Tunnel is the 1,300 meters long twin-tube tunnel a part of Swat Expressway located near Chakdara. The tunnel were constructed by Frontier Works Organization (FWO). [1] [2] [3]

In July 2018 Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the tunnel when it was under construction. [4] [5]

The Lincoln Tunnel is an approximately 1.5-mile-long (2.4 km) tunnel under the Hudson River, connecting Weehawken, New Jersey, to the west with Midtown Manhattan in New York City to the east. Carey Tunnel and commonly referred to as the Battery Tunnel, is a tolled tunnel in New York City that connects Red Hook in Brooklyn with Battery Park in Manhattan. The tunnel consists of twin tubes that each carry two traffic lanes under the mouth of the East River. Although it passes just offshore of Governors Island, the tunnel does not provide vehicular access to the island. With a length of 9,117 feet, it is the longest continuous underwater vehicular tunnel in North America.

The Queens–Midtown Tunnel is a vehicular tunnel under the East River in New York City, connecting the boroughs of Manhattan and Queens. The tunnel consists of a pair of tubes, each carrying two lanes. The west end of the tunnel is located on the East Side of Midtown Manhattan, while the east end of the tunnel is located in Long Island City in Queens. The tunnel carries Interstate 495 (I-495) for its entire length; I-495's western terminus is at the Manhattan portal of the tunnel.

Market Street subway

The Market Street subway is a double-decker subway tunnel that carries Muni Metro and BART train traffic in San Francisco, California. It runs under the length of Market Street between Embarcadero Station and Castro Street Station. The upper level is used by Muni Metro lines and the lower level is used by BART lines. BART does not run through the whole subway; it turns south and runs under Mission Street southwest of Civic Center Station. The northeastern end of the BART level is connected to the Transbay Tube. On the Muni Metro level, the southwestern end of the Market Street subway connects to the much-older Twin Peaks Tunnel, and the northeastern end connects to surface tracks along the Embarcadero.

Chief of the Army Staff (India)

The Chief of the Army Staff is the head of the military staff of the Indian Army and the chairman of the Indian Army Board. The Chief is usually the highest ranking officer of the Indian army unless the Chief and Vice Chief of Defence are army officers. The position is abbreviated as COAS in Indian Army, and is always held by a full general. The general is responsible for directing and chairing the army staff of the armed forces serving as the staff's chief executive. As the most senior officer to serve in the Indian Army, the Chief of the Army Staff is a military adviser to the Government of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Defence. The current COAS is General Manoj Mukund Naravane, who took office on 31 December 2019.

The Karawanks Tunnel is a motorway tunnel crossing the Alpine Karawanks mountain range between Austria and Slovenia, with a total length of 7.864 km, 8.019 km enclosure between the portals. Its construction began in 1986 and it opened on 1 June 1991. Chief of Army Staff (Pakistan)

The Chief of Army Staff, is the most senior officer in the Pakistan Army.

Fazal Hayat, more commonly known by his pseudonym Maulana Fazlullah, was an Islamist militant who was the leader of the Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi, and was the leader of the Tehreek-e-Taliban in Swat Valley. On 7 November 2013, he became the emir of the Tehrik-i-Taliban, and presided over the descent of the group into factions who are often at war with each other. Fazlullah was added to the U.S. State Department's Rewards for Justice wanted list on 7 March 2018. Fazlullah was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Afghanistan on 14 June 2018.

Second Battle of Swat 2009 conflict between Pakistan and Taliban insurgents

The Second Battle of Swat also known as Operation Rah-e-Rast, began in May 2009 and involved the Pakistani Army and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan militants in a fight for control of the Swat district of Pakistan. The first Battle of Swat had ended with a peace agreement, widely criticised in the west, that the government had signed with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan in February 2009. However, by late April 2009 government troops and the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan began to clash once again, and in May the government launched military operations throughout the district and elsewhere to oppose the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan.

Today it is a railway tunnel under Rosenstein Park to Bad Cannstatt.
