Zane Timpson

Zane Cary Timpson (July 13, 1995 - November 13, 2021) was an American skateboarder and artist. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Skateboarding

In 2016, Timpson and Adam Anorga released a skate video titled Awaysted through their "Western World" company. [6] The video was filmed by Anorga and Timpson. [6]

In 2016, Zane Timpson nose-picked into the bank at the Encinitas City Hall. [7] In Feb/Mar 2025, A photo of the trick appeared on the cover of Encinitas Magazine. [8]

In October 2019, Timpson, Adam Anorga, and Layla Venegas released "He's in the Green" a video tribute to Pablo Ramirez. [9]

The 2020 Westernworld video FFFURTHER by Anorga & Timpson is also dedicated to Pablo Ramirez. [10] The video features skating from Elijah Akerley, Matt Bergmann, Stephen Brayman, Hayden Estrada, Kayl Johnson, Neil Norgren, Daniel Stelly, Timpson, and Pablo. [10]

In a 2020 interview with Confusion magazine in issue 27, Timspon is asked by interviewer Jonathan Hay "Is skateboarding a sport?", Zane replies: "Nah, this shit is a violent ballet. It’s dangerous art." [11]

Timpson loved to hill bomb the streets of San Francisco. [2] His passion for skating the hills of San Francisco was featured in a 2021 New Yorker article. [2]

In December 2024, the "bruce time" video by mohkie from Isaac Eteminan included unreleased footage of Timpson skating. [12]

Mark Gonzales, also known as "Gonz", "the Gonz" and "the Godfather", is an American professional skateboarder and artist. A pioneer in the development of modern street skating, he is considered one of the first street-style skateboarders alongside Natas Kaupas. Gonzales and Kaupas are also credited with the first known boardslides on a handrail. Gonzales' pioneering influence on skateboarding has caused him to be known as the "God Father" of modern street skateboarding, and he was named the "Most Influential Skateboarder of All Time" by Transworld Skateboarding magazine in December 2011, where Gonzales was placed ahead of Tony Hawk (2nd) and Rodney Mullen (3rd).

Jamie Thomas is an American professional skateboarder and skateboard industry entrepreneur. Thomas is the owner and founder of Zero Skateboards and Fallen Footwear, until he announced its closure in January 2017. Thomas' nickname in the skateboard industry is "The Chief".

Zero Skateboards is a skateboard company located in Carlsbad, California, United States. The brand was founded by professional skateboarder and entrepreneur Jamie Thomas, and distributed by his Black Box Distribution company. In late June 2014, Thomas announced that the brand would be distributed by the Dwindle Distribution company, based in El Segundo, California. Subsequently, in 2016, Thomas and Dwindle announced that Zero Skateboards would be operated independently by Thomas.

Alien Workshop (AWS) is an independent American skateboarding company that was founded in 1990 by Chris Carter, Mike Hill, and Neil Blender in Dayton, Ohio. Following periods under the ownership of the Burton snowboard company and original team rider Rob Dyrdek in 2012, the company was acquired by Pacific Vector Holdings in October 2013. Alien Workshop produced skateboard decks, wheels, apparel, and other skateboard accessories prior to its closure in May 2014. In 2015, Alien Workshop was revived with an all-amateur team and distribution through Tum Yeto. They released a series of new skate decks and Bunker Down, the brand's sixth video. As of 2016, Alien Workshop, led by Mike Hill phased out working with Tum-Yeto and moved all operations back to the Mound Laboratories in Miamisburg, Ohio. After a tumultuous ownership history they have returned to operations as an independent company.
