Zehri is an ethnic Brahui tribe mainly found in Balochistan, Pakistan. According to the official list by Mir Ahmad Yar, the last Khan of Kalat, Zehri was originally one of the Jat tribes inhabiting Balochistan. [1]

The Khanate of Kalat was a Brahui Khanate that originated in the modern-day Kalat region of Pakistan. Formed in 1666 due to the threat of Mughal expansion in the region, it controlled the wider Balochistan at its greatest extent in the mid-18th century, extending from Kerman in the west to Sindh in the east and from Helmand River in the north to the Arabian Sea in the south. The Khanate of Kalat lost considerable area to Qajar Iran and the Emirate of Afghanistan in the early 19th century, and the city of Kalat was itself sacked by the British in 1839.

Bizenjo is an ethnic Brahui tribe inhabiting Balochistan, Pakistan. According to the official list by Mir Ahmad Yar, the last Khan of Kalat, Zehri was originally one of the Jatt tribes inhabiting the region; the other being Zehri and Mengal. Though the Bizenjo in eastern Makran are Brahui by origin, they have been Baluchified in language and customs due to a prolonged residence in Makran.

Abdul Qadir Baloch is a Pakistani politician and retired army general who served as Minister for States and Frontier Regions in the third Sharif ministry from 2013 to 2017, and in the Abbasi cabinet from August 2017 to May 2018. A leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Baloch briefly served as the Governor of Balochistan during Pervez Musharraf rule in 2003.

Sardar Sanaullah Khan Zehri is a Pakistani politician who had been the Chief Minister of Balochistan from 24 December 2015 to 9 December 2017. He belongs to Channal Zarakzai family and is also the Sardar of the Zehri tribe and chief of Jhalawan. Zehri was the central president of the Pakistan Muslim League's Balochistan branch and a confidant of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif He left the PML-N on 7 November 2020.

Agha Mir Suleman Dawood Jan Ahmedzai is the 35th Khan of Kalat, a position he has held since the death of his father, Mir Dawood Jan, in 1998. Currently, he lives in self-imposed exile in Wales. His only son, Prince Mir Mohammad Khan Ahmadzai, is estranged from him. Both Mir Suleman Dawood and his son had applied for asylum, but his son later rebelled and withdrew his asylum request. After that Mir Mohammad Khan Ahmadzai left his father and returned to Pakistan. Upon his arrival to Pakistan, he hoisted the Pakistani flag at the Quaid-e-Azam’s Residency in Ziarat. Currently, Mir Mohammad Khan Ahmadzai regularly hosts senior figures of law enforcement in Balochistan at the same place where his father used to hold court.

Provincial elections were held in the Pakistani province of Balochistan on 25 July 2018. Newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) emerged as the largest party by winning 24 seats followed by Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal who won 10 seats. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won 7 seats for the very first time.

Santosh Kumar Bugti is a Pakistani politician. He served as a member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan from 2013 to 2018 on a reserved seat for minorities, and is affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N).
