Edoardo Mangiarotti was an Italian fencer. He won a total of 39 Olympic titles and World championships, more than any other fencer in the history of the sport. His Olympic medals include one individual gold, five team golds, five silver, and two bronze medals from 1936 to 1960.
Nedo Nadi was one of the best Italian fencers of all time. He is the only fencer to win a gold medal in each of the three weapons at a single Olympic Games and won the most fencing gold medals ever at a single Games—five. Nadi won six Olympic gold medals in total.

Susan Wrigglesworth, whose married name was Susan Wojciechowski, was the youngest female foilist in the history of British fencing to compete in the Olympic Games. She attended Croydon High School and, at the age of 17, competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. She reached the World Youth final and came 13th in the individual event in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Four years later she competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. She was married to Polish Olympic fencer Ziemowit Wojciechowski.
Richard Kruse is a former British right-handed foil fencer and four-time Olympian. In 2015, he was part of the Great Britain team that shocked Olympic champions Italy to win the first European Games gold in team foil, the first British gold medal in a team fencing event at World or European level for fifty years. He retired in 2021.
Eloise Smith is a British fencer. She competed in the women's individual foil event at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She was Commonwealth fencing champion in Individual Women's Foil in 1998 and 2002. From 1997 to 2004, she represented Great Britain at every World Fencing Championships and was British Individual Women's Foil No. 1. She was coached by Ziemowit Wojciechowski at Salle Paul.
Race Alick Reid Imboden is an American left-handed former foil fencer. He is a nine-time team Pan American champion, six-time individual Pan American champion, and 2019 team world champion. A three-time Olympian, Imboden is a two-time team Olympic bronze medalist. He competed in the 2012 London Olympic Games, the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, and the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Nicole Ross is an American foil fencer. Fencing for the Columbia Lions fencing team, she won the 2010 NCAA individual women's foil title, and was a three time All-American. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she competed in individual women's foil, coming in 25th, while in the team event she and her teammates came in sixth. At the 2018 World Championships, she and Team USA won the gold medal in the women's team foil event.
Alaaeldin Mohamed El-Sayed Abouelkassem is an Egyptian fencer who won a silver medal in the men's foil event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He took up fencing at the age of eight and, in 2008, began fencing internationally, winning medals at the African and World Junior Championships, as well as the Junior World Cup, before progressing to the senior level in 2011 and capturing bronze at the Fleuret de St-Petersbourg. Later that year, he earned gold medals at the 2011 Pan Arab Games in the individual and team foil events before progressing to the 2012 Summer Games, where he won Africa's first-ever Olympic fencing medal.

Eric Tennyson Sollee was an American fencer and fencing coach. He fenced at Harvard University, where he earned National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) All-America honors. He coached at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard, and the Carroll Center for the Blind, among others. As a coach, he is notable for finding ways to quickly develop competitive fencers and for introducing a paradigm shift in how to fence against classical fencers. Sollee trained a number of top competitors, including Olympians.
Eleanor Grace Harvey is a Canadian foil fencer. She is a three-time Olympian and won the bronze medal in the individual foil event at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Harvey is also a Pan American Games champion, two-time Pan American Fencing champion, two-time Junior World Championships silver medalist and two-time Pan American Junior champion.
Nick Itkin is an American foil fencer. He is a two-time Olympic bronze medalist, two-time World Championship individual medalist, 2023 Pan American Games team gold medalist, 2024 Pan American Games team gold medalist, and two-time NCAA individual champion.
