Zik Sunday Ambuno is a Nigerian politician. He was a senator who represented the Northern Taraba Senatorial District in the 5th National Assembly. [1] [2] [3]
Taraba is a state in north-eastern Nigeria,named after the Taraba River,which traverses the southern part of the state. It is known as "Nature's Gift to the Nation". Its capital is Jalingo. The state's main ethnic groups are the Fulani,Mumuye,Mambilla,Jukun,Kuteb,Karimjo Wurkun,Tiv,Yandang,Ndola,Ichen,Jenjo,Tigon,and Jibu. The northern part is mainly dominated by the Fulani,Wurkun,Mumuye and Sho. The southern part is dominated by the Jukun,Tiv,Chamba,Kuteb and Ichen. The central region is mainly occupied by the Fulani,Mambilla,Ndola,Tigon,Jibu,Wurbo,and Daka people. There are about 80 distinct ethnic groups and their languages in the state.
Joel Danlami Ikenya is a Nigerian politician who was elected to represent the People's Democratic Party (PDP) as Senator for Taraba South in Taraba State in 2007. He was reelected in 2007,then in 2011 made an unsuccessful bid for governor of the state. The 2015 Taraba State gubernatorial election was the 6th gubernatorial election of Taraba State. Held on April 11,2015 and April 25,2015 due to inconclusive,the People's Democratic Party nominee Darius Ishaku won the election,defeating Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress.
The 2023 Taraba State gubernatorial election was held on 18 March 2023,to elect the governor of Taraba State,concurrent with elections to the Taraba State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election,which was postponed from its original 11 March date,was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Darius Ishaku was term-limited and could not seek re-election to a third term. Kefas Agbu held the office for the PDP by defeating NNPP nominee Muhammad Sani Yahaya.
