Vasileios Zikos Chua Ming Xun (born 15 April 2002) is a Singaporean-Greek professional footballer who plays as a forward for Singapore Premier League club Geylang International. [1]
Zikos Chua was born in Greece to a Greek mother and a Chinese Singaporean father and grew up in Kastoria, Macedonia, Greece, [2] with his younger brother, before returning to Singapore when he was 10. [3] He was a student at Tanjong Katong Secondary School when he made his first bow as a professional footballer. [1] [4]
Zikos Chua started his career with the National Football Academy before he was signed by former Geylang Head Coach Noor Ali for the club's Under-19 side in 2017. He has also represented Singapore at various levels and was nominated for The New Paper Dollah Kassim Award in 2017.
While playing for the National Football Academy, Chua was also representing his school, Tanjong Katong Secondary School, in the National "C" Division, scoring 26 goals in 2016 to help his school win the title. [5] He was named in Goal Singapore's 2020 NxGn list following his sublime performances for Geylang International. [6]
On 4 July 2018, Chua came on as a late substitute in Geylang International FC's 3–1 win over Young Lions at Jalan Besar Stadium for his professional debut at the age of 16, Chua eclipsed the previous record set by Hariss Harun as the youngest ever debutant in the Singapore Premier League. [7] [8] He was the youngest player to ever play in the country's top tier of soccer and is the third-youngest scorer in the history of Singapore's professional league. [9]
On 14 April 2019, Chua became the third youngest scorer in Singapore Premier League history, at 16 years and 364 days, after Hariss Harun and Fareez Farhan. [10] He kept his exploits by becoming the youngest player ever to reach the five-goal mark in league history, at 17 years and 102 days on 27 July 2019. [11] As of April 2020, Chua has scored 5 goals in 13 matches for the Eagles. [6] His talent would not go un-noticed as he was picked up by J League side Matsumoto Yamaga on a training stint. [12]
However Zikos would suffer an ACL injury in 2019, setting him back. [13]
Zikos Chua was first called up to the Singapore under-22 in 2019 for the 2019 Merlion Cup. He made his debut for the team on 7 June 2019, in a 3–0 win against Philippines. [14] He made his debut against Philippines in the Merlion Cup.
On 31 July 2019, Fadzuhasny Juraimi named Chua in the Singapore squad for 2019 AFF U18 Championship. [15]

Singapore U22
Fandi bin Ahmad is a Singaporean professional football manager and former player. He is the current technical advisor and head coach of Malaysia Super League club Sri Pahang. During his professional career, he mainly played as a striker, but also played as a midfielder. Along with the Singapore FA, he had also played for Malaysia Cup state sides Kuala Lumpur FA and Pahang FA, and won titles with all three, including two doubles in 1992 and 1994, as well as the Golden Boot in 1988. Fandi also played for Indonesia's Niac Mitra, Netherlands' Groningen as well as local Singaporean clubs Geylang United and SAFFC.
Lionel Lewis is a Singaporean former footballer who last played for Singapore national football team as a goalkeeper. He played for Home United from 2004 to 2012, having played for Geylang United and the Young Lions in his earlier years. Lewis made his international debut in 2002 and made 73 appearances for the Singapore national football team. He was named the 2004 Tiger Cup MVP, and was nominated for the 2006 Asian Footballer of the Year award. After his retirement from professional football he has worked for Nanyang Polytechnic managing student sports.
Geylang International Football Club is a professional football club based in Bedok, Singapore, that competes in Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore. The club was founded in 1973 to build a successful football team that would be remembered for generations to come. They played their first season in 1974, winning the FAS Division Three League which earned a spot in National Football League Division One the following year. They enjoyed their greatest successes in the 1980s and 90s, winning six consecutive FAS Premier League titles.
