Ziro is the census town in Lower Subansiri district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. It has been a favourite town for World Heritage Site for a number of years now. In a meeting of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on 12 December 2002 it was shortlisted for inclusion in the Tentative List for further nomination to UNESCO for inscription in the World Heritage Site. The part of the town which is the centre of economic activities and where the administrative offices are located is called as Hapoli or locally known by the Apatanis as "Hao-Polyang".

Hapoli is a part of Ziro, the headquarters of Lower Subansiri district, Arunachal Pradesh, India where the administrative offices of the headquarters are located. The name is said to have been derived from "Hao-Polyang", by which name the Apatanis still know. Literally, "hao" means high or above and "polyang" means plain or plateau. It also serves as the commercial hub of Lower Subansiri district and boasts a large number of schools both government and private where students from all over the state come to study. The Apatanis are the native of this place and also forms the majority. It is divided into several zones,some of which are medical colony, Engineering Colony and SSB gate etc. The recent surge in the number of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh pose a huge threat to the tribal culture and the proper implementation of inner line permit system by the law enforcers can be seen as the only remedy as of now.

Ziro-Hapoli is one of the 60 constituencies of Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh. Name of current MLA (August 2019) of this constituency is Tage Taki who successfully defeated his nearest rival Nani Ribia to win his consecutive tenure. He is an engineer by qualification.
