Zul Fakhari bin Muksin (born 24 October 1980) or stage name Zul F, is a Bruneian male singer-songwriter and actor. [1] [ non-primary source needed ] Dubbed "darling" of the local media, he gained recognition after winning P2F, Brunei's version of the Idol series, [2] and was the first Bruneian artist to appear on MTV Asia in 2007, with his video Dari Mata. [3] [4]
In 2005, Zul received his Bachelor of Arts (Education) in TESL from Universiti Brunei Darussalam. He started his professional career in 2005 at Rimba Secondary School as an Education Officer. In 2012, he began teaching communication skills as Assistant Head of the General Studies Division (Academic) at Brunei Polytechnic. [5] In August 2024, he graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy from Universiti Technology Brunei. [6]
Zul began his music career as a member of Bruneian band Pneumatic Soulz. [7] The group's debut performance was as the opening act for Malaysian artists Elite and X-Factor. [8]
After going solo, he became a contestant and eventual winner of the first season of P2F in 2005. [9] This made him a prominent figure in the local music scene as, prior to P2F, most Bruneians only listened to Malaysian artists. [8]
Zul's first music video, "Dari Mata" screened on MTV Asia in 2007. He was the first local Malay Bruneian to release a music video regionally and internationally. The song then became an instant hit.
As an established local artist and the fact that he has notched up noticeable successes as winner of the inaugural P2F reality show in Brunei(equivalent to the Idol series), he became the Ambassador / Image Model for Toyota Vios in 2008. An endorsement contract of this nature is the first of its kind for a local Bruneian artist.
He released his 1st singles album, "Bersama Bintang" in 2006. One of the songs from the album, "Engkau Adalah Cinta" was recorded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The same song actually made its debut as he was invited to perform at Selayang Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in December 2005.
Zul was featured as Guest Performer in the MoU project (a joint collaboration between RTB, Brunei & Suria, Singapore artist), "Rhapsodi Hitz". The event took place in Singapore.
Four years later, he then released his debut album "Memori Cinta Zul Faden" (Love Memories) in 2011. A few months prior to the release of his debut album, Zul was invited to perform at the ASEAN Tourism Fair in Osaka, Japan, in which he was given the opportunity to perform new songs from his upcoming album.
Within the same year in 2011, he was appointed Goodwill Ambassador and Image Model for Jerudong Park Playground, Brunei's Theme Park, together with Brunei's Top Female Artist, Maria.
In 2013, he was featured in Brunei's 1st local movie "Ada Apa Dengan Rina" as he co-starred with other established Bruneian actors and actresses. The movie spawned a "Special Jury Award" during the Asean International Film Festival & Awards (AIFFA) 2013 held in Sarawak, Malaysia.
Since then he has been given lead roles in several local telemovies such as "Ketika Mata Bertasbih", "Biru Pesisir Hati" and "Doa dan Sejadah". He also co-starred in the popular 13-episode local TV drama entitled "Rintihanku".

Brunei, officially Brunei Darussalam, is a country in Southeast Asia, situated on the northern coast of the island of Borneo. Apart from its coastline on the South China Sea, it is completely surrounded by the Malaysian state of Sarawak, with its territory bifurcated by the Sarawak district of Limbang. Brunei is the only sovereign state entirely on Borneo; the remainder of the island is divided between its multi-landmass neighbours of Malaysia and Indonesia. As of 2023, the country had a population of 455,858, of whom approximately 180,000 resided in the capital and largest city of Bandar Seri Begawan. Its official language is Malay and Islam is the state religion of the country, although other religions are nominally tolerated. The government of Brunei is a constitutional absolute monarchy ruled by the Sultan, and it implements a fusion of English common law and jurisprudence inspired by Islam, including sharia.
The history of Brunei concerns the settlements and societies located on the north coast of the island of Borneo, which has been under the influence of Indianised kingdoms and empires for much of its history. Local scholars assume that the Islamisation of Brunei started in the fifteenth century with the formation of the Bruneian Empire, a thalassocracy that covered the northern part of Borneo and Sulu. At the end of the 17th century, Brunei subsequently entered a period of decline brought on by the Brunei Civil War, piracy, and European colonial expansion. Later, there was a brief war with Spain, in which Brunei evacuated its capital for a brief period until the Spanish withdrew. The empire lost much of its territory with the arrival of the Western powers, such as the Spanish in Luzon and Visayas and the British in Labuan, Sarawak, and North Borneo. The decline of the Bruneian Empire accelerated in the nineteenth century when Brunei gave much of its territory to the White Rajahs of Sarawak, resulting in its current small landmass and separation into two parts. Sultan Hashim Jalilul Alam Aqamaddin later appealed to the British to stop further annexation in 1888. In the same year, the British signed a "Treaty of Protection" and made Brunei a British protectorate until 1984 when it gained independence and prospered due to the discovery of oil.
The Malay language has a complex system of styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and Singapore.
Dayang Nurfaizah binti Awang Dowty is a Malaysian singer and actress. Her debut self-titled album was released in May 1999 and it was recorded in the pop and R&B genres. The album's lead single, Hakikat Cinta introduced her to the local music industry.
Radio Television Brunei is the national public broadcaster of Brunei, headquartered at the Secretariat Building, Bandar Seri Begawan. Radio Brunei made its first broadcast on 2 May 1957, with a television service starting on 1 March 1975. Modelled after Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), which is a government department, RTB came into its current state with its present name in 1975 after the merger of its radio and television services.
Pengiran Anak Saleha is a member of the royal family as the wife of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. She is the daughter of Pengiran Anak Mohamed Alam and Pengiran Anak Besar. After her husband was crowned as the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei, she succeeded her mother-in-law, Pengiran Anak Damit, as Raja Isteri. She is the mother of Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah.
E.M.A.S,, is the ninth studio album from Malaysian pop singer-songwriter Siti Nurhaliza. The album was released on 3 March 2003 in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei and at a later time in Indonesia. This album also includes a mini-VCD that features a video message from Siti and 2 video clips of "Bukan Cinta Biasa" and "Ku Milikmu".
The Sultanate of Brunei or simply Brunei, also known as the Brunei Empire, was a Malay sultanate, centered around Brunei on the northern coast of Borneo in Southeast Asia. Brunei became a sovereign state around the 15th century, when it substantially expanded after the fall of Malacca to the Portuguese, extending throughout coastal areas of Borneo and the Philippines, before it declined in the 17th and 18th centuries. It became a British protectorate in the 19th century.

Unplugged is a live album by Malaysian recording artist Siti Nurhaliza. It was released in multiple formats, both physical and digital in Malaysia on 30 June 2015. The main live tracks were all taken from her 2015 unplugged concert at Istana Budaya on 7 April 2015. The CD, digital download and LP record versions of the album however come with three new bonus songs, "Menatap dalam Mimpi", "Engkau" ("You") and "Mikraj Cinta". All were recorded specifically to accompany the three audio releases.
The Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College, colloquially known as Maktab Duli (MD), is a government sixth form college located at Jalan Pasar Gadong in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. Established in 1974, it is the first sixth form centre in the country, and has since provided sixth form education leading up to GCE A Level qualification.

Muhammad Fakhrul Razi bin Ibrahim or commonly known by his stage name Fakhrul Razi, is a singer-songwriter from Brunei who has previously hosted the D'Academy Asia which airs on Indosiar. Pop, R&B, and indigenous Bruneian music are all combined in his songs, and he has grown a following both domestically and internationally.
Muslim bin Haji Burut, pen name Muslim Burmat, was a writer from Brunei who wrote a great deal of literature, particularly novels and short stories that are used in Brunei's educational institutions. In addition to receiving numerous literary honours, his works—which are primarily realistic but also include fresh historiography—showcase aspects of Brunei society.
Queenie Chong Chin Yee is a Bruneian businessperson and politician of Chinese descent who was among the members of Brunei's Legislative Council (LegCo) appointed in 2023. She is the CEO and co-founder of the online legacy planner Memori. She was also chosen as the inaugural Bruneian recipient of the Edmund Hillary Fellowship (EHF).
