Udit Narayan is an Indian playback singer whose songs have been featured mainly in Hindi films. He has also sung in various other languages including Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Odia, Bhojpuri, Nepali, Malayalam, Assamese, Bagheli and Maithili. He has won four National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards with twenty nominations among many others. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution to arts and culture. As many as 21 of his tracks feature in BBC's "Top 40 Bollywood Soundtracks of all time".
Sharada Krishnamurthy, popularly known as Kavita Krishnamurthy or Kavita Subramaniam, is an Indian playback and classical singer. She has recorded 50,000 songs in 45 various Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Rajasthani, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Odia, Marathi, English, Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Nepali, Assamese, Konkani, Punjabi and other languages. She is the recipient of four Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Awards, and the Padmashri which she received in 2005. She was awarded a Doctorate for her contributions to Indian music by Bangalore-based Jain University in 2015. In 1999, she married noted violinist L. Subramaniam and resides in Bengaluru.
Anupam Roy is an Indian singer, singer-songwriter, music director, composer, songwriter, guitarist, playback singer from Kolkata, West Bengal. He made his debut with Amake Amar Moto Thakte Dao & Benche Thakar Gaan, which appeared on the soundtrack of the 2010 Bengali film Autograph. Since then, he has gone on to compose, write lyrics and sing for many Bengali films. In 2015, he made his Bollywood debut, composing the songs and score for Piku. He was nominated for the 61st Filmfare Award for Best Music Director, and won the 61st Filmfare Award for Best Background Score for Piku. He is a recipient of 64th National Film Award for Best Lyrics for the song Tumi Jaake Bhalobasho.
Mirchi Music Awards are presented annually by Radio Mirchi to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Hindi language film music industry of India. Amaal Mallik is an Indian music director, composer, singer, music producer, arranger, background scorer, performer and lyricist. He is the elder son of Daboo Malik and Jyothi Malik, and grandson of Sardar Malik. He debuted as a composer in 2014 by composing three songs for Salman Khan's Jai Ho, following it up with the song "Naina" from Khoobsurat. He got widely recognition by composing songs for M.S. The Nooran Sisters are Sultana Nooran and Jyoti Nooran who are a devotional Sufi singing duo from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. Born to a family of Sufi musicians, they perform Sham Chaurasia gharana classical music. Their public recognition came in 2012 when they were featured with the song "Tung Tung" in MTV Sound Trippin of MTV India, which was adapted as a soundtrack in the 2015 Bollywood film Singh is Bling.

Aashiqui 2 won a leading eight awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Tum Hi Ho".

The ceremony was held on 18 February 2017 at the Dome @ National Sports Club of India, Mumbai and was hosted by Sonu Nigam. There were many performances, including those by Amit Trivedi, Papon, Badshah, Armaan Malik, Sukhwinder Singh, Jubin Nautiyal, Shalmali Kholgade, Neeti Mohan, Neha Bhasin. It was the first time that the ceremony was open to the public. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil won a leading five awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Channa Mereya". CityLights won a leading three awards. 2 States was awarded the Album of the Year, while "Zehnaseeb" from Hasee Toh Phasee won Song of the Year award. There were many performances, including those by Saif Ali Khan, Parikrama, Shreya Ghoshal, Bappi Lahiri and Mika Singh. There was a live jugalbandi featuring Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, Lalit Pandit, Salim–Sulaiman, Ram Sampath, Sajid–Wajid and Leslie Lewis. Ash King, Harshdeep Kaur, Neha Bhasin, Anushka Manchanda, Tochi Raina, Shweta Pandit, Dominique and Clinton Cerejo, Kamal Khan, Suman Shridhar, Shefali Alvares, Benny Dayal and Ritu Pathak also performed during the award show. Rockstar won a leading five awards including Album of the Year. Song of the Year went to "Senorita" from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The show was broadcast on 31 March 2012 on Colors.
The Mirchi Music Award for Upcoming Lyricist of The Year is given yearly by Radio Mirchi as a part of its annual Mirchi Music Awards for Hindi films, to recognise an upcoming lyricist for contributing in a film song. The award ceremony was started in 2008 to honour the best of Hindi film music. Ashok Mishra was the winner in that award ceremony for the film Welcome to Sajjanpur. As of the 2018 ceremony, Prateek Kuhad is the most recent winner in this category for the song "Kadam" from the film Karwaan.
The 3rd Mirchi Music Awards, presented by Radio Mirchi, honored the best of Hindi music from the year 2010. The ceremony was held on 27 January 2011 at the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, and was hosted by Shaan and Sonu Nigam. The program featured many performances, including those by Bappi Lahiri, Usha Uthup, DJ Lloyd, Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Rishi Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Several award categories were introduced for the first time, including Best Indipop Song, Best Item Number, Best Raag Inspired Song, Best song in Sufi Tradition, and Best Album of Golden Era. Dabangg won a leading eight awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Munni Badnaam".
The 11th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by Indian FM radio station Radio Mirchi, honoured the best music professionals of Hindi language Indian films of 2018. The ceremony was held at the Dome at the National Sports Club of India, Mumbai on 16 February 2019 and was hosted by Indian singer and actor Sonu Nigam. The event included live music performances by Badshah, Neha Kakkar, Meet Bros, Jonita Gandhi, Arko, Papon, Shivam Pathak, and Ashmik Patil, the winner of the Smule Mirchi Cover Star. A new award category, "Recreated Song of the Year," was introduced to recognize the many ‘re-creations’ released in 2018. Padmaavat won several awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Ghoomar." The show was broadcast on 17 March 2019 on Zee TV.

A non-film category award was included for the first time. Delhi-6 won a leading eight awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Masakali". The show was broadcast on 21 February 2010 on Sony TV.

Awards were given out in 17 different categories. Jodhaa Akbar won a leading seven awards including Song of the Year. Album of the Year was won by film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. The show was broadcast on 12 April 2009 on StarPlus.
