12x12 Original Remixes is a remix album by Talk Talk released initially in 1999 and again in 2001 with a new cover and artwork as Remixed. It contains the same songs as disc 1 of the earlier album Asides Besides .

Contents

It is the third remix album of Talk Talk songs, following It's My Mix from 1985 and the controversial History Revisited from 1991. The album cover is a collage of various images associated with the band's previous albums. It features the same style Talk Talk logo as on History Revisited, the hanging goose from Asides Besides , the butterfly "face" from The Colour of Spring , the canary from The Very Best of Talk Talk, the tree of birds from Spirit of Eden , as well as numerous other animal related images. Remixed, the 2001 edition, features more simple artwork of blue and orange circles on the cover.

Reception

Allmusic described the cover as "ugly collage work". [1] Allmusic gave the album Star full.svgStar full.svgStar half.svgStar empty.svgStar empty.svg, saying that, despite the content being good, "you'd be better off shelling out the extra cash for Asides Besides. You'd be getting everything this disc offers, in addition to its second disc of demos and excellent B-sides. [1]

American Made Music to Strip By is the first remix album released by American musician Rob Zombie. The album was released through Geffen Records on October 26, 1999. It is composed entirely of remixes of songs taken from Zombie's debut studio album, Hellbilly Deluxe (1998). Zombie worked with a number of musicians and producers to create updated versions of the songs, including Charlie Clouser, who had previously worked with Zombie on his debut solo effort. Ten of the original album's songs have been remixed, excluding three instrumental interludes. Two of the remixes featured on American Made Music to Strip By had previously been released on promotional discs for "Dragula" (1998) and "Living Dead Girl" (1999).

"It's a Shame (My Sister)" is a 1990 hip hop song recorded by British rapper Monie Love, featuring True Image. It was the second single from her debut album, Down to Earth, and was released in late 1990 in Germany and the UK and in early 1991 in other European countries. The song sampled the Spinners' 1970 single "It's a Shame", written for the band by Stevie Wonder. The "Cool as..." remix of the track sampled the guitar riff from the Sister Sledge hit "He's the Greatest Dancer". The song had some success, particularly in Switzerland, where it peaked at number 6 and charted for 21 weeks. In the United States, it was Monie Love's sole hit single, reaching number 26. The Raw & the Remix is a remix album by English alternative band Fine Young Cannibals, released in 1990 by I.R.S. Records, MCA Records and London Records. It contains remixes and alternate versions of songs by the band, mostly from their 1989 album The Raw & the Cooked. Several of the remixes were created by David Steele and Andy Cox of the band, whilst others were created by disc jockeys such as Smith & Mighty, Youth, Jazzie B, Nellee Hooper and Derrick May. The remixes on the album are said to be significantly different from the originals, some of which contain major stylistic differences in the arrangements.

B in the Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2 is the second remix album by American singer Britney Spears. The follow-up to B in the Mix: The Remixes (2005), it was released on October 7, 2011 by Jive Records. On September 9, 2011, Spears announced the release by posting the cover artwork and track listing on her Tumblr account. The album includes remixes of various tracks from her studio albums Blackout (2007), Circus (2008) and Femme Fatale (2011), as well as a remix of "3" and, exclusively in Japan, a remix of "My Prerogative". The remixes were done by disc jockeys such as Kaskade, Tiësto and Benny Benassi. The music was influenced by various subgenres of pop music, such as disco and house. The album was released the same day RCA absorbed Jive Records.

<i>Asides Besides</i> 1998 compilation album by Talk Talk

Asides Besides is a compilation album by Talk Talk, released April 1998. It is a collection of rarities, B-sides and demos previously unavailable on CD. It was issued as a companion volume to the band's 1997 album remasters and has been described as "[tying] up loose ends" in the band's career. The album received positive reviews. The album only contains tracks from the 1982–1988 period, as EMI could only obtain rights for Talk Talk music from this period. An album of rarities for Talk Talk's career after 1988 was released in 2001 as Missing Pieces.
