Football at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games International football competition

The association football tournament at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games took place from 3 to 21 November 2011. This edition of the tournament was only for the men's competition, women's competition was not held as the host country Indonesia did not have enough stadiums to hold the matches. It was played among U-23 national teams. All matches took place in Jakarta. This was the first time that all Southeast Asian nations participated in the football tournament at the same edition of the SEA Games.

The football (soccer) tournament at the 2001 Southeast Asian Games was held in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia. It included a men's tournament and that year was the first edition of the Southeast Asian Games to include a women's tournament. The men's tournament was held from 1 September to 15 September 2001, while the women's tournament was held from 4 to 14 September 2001. The men's tournament was the first of the Southeast Asian Games to have an age limit, and has been played by U-23 national teams since then, while the women's tournament has no age limit. All matches were held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 2015 AFF U-16 Youth Championship is the 10th edition of the AFF U-16 Youth Championship, organised by the ASEAN Football Federation. It was set to be hosted by Indonesia but they were suspended by FIFA in May 2015.

The 2018 AFF Championship was the 12th edition of the AFF Championship, the football championship of nations affiliated to the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF), and the 6th under the name AFF Suzuki Cup. This was the first time a new format has been applied with the group stage was played in a home-and-away format instead of be hosted in two nations from 2002 to 2016.

The 2016 AFF U-16 Youth Championship was the 11th edition of the AFF U-16 Youth Championship, organised by the ASEAN Football Federation for the men's under-16 national teams of Southeastern Asia. It is hosted by Cambodia for the third time after the 2007 AFF U-17 Youth Championship and 2015 AFF U-16 Youth Championship, and won by Australia. It is played between 10 July to 23 July 2016.

2018 AFC U-16 Championship International football competition

The 2018 AFC U-16 Championship was the 18th edition of the AFC U-16 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-16 national teams of Asia. It took place in Malaysia, which was appointed as hosts by the AFC on 25 July 2017, between 20 September and 7 October 2018. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament.
