Talk radio is a radio format containing discussion about topical issues and consisting entirely or almost entirely of original spoken word content rather than outside music. Most shows are regularly hosted by a single individual, and often feature interviews with several different guests. Talk radio typically includes an element of listener participation, usually by broadcasting live conversations between the host and listeners who "call in" to the show. Listener contributions are usually screened by a show's producers to maximize audience interest and, in the case of commercial talk radio, to attract advertisers. Generally, the shows are organized into segments, each separated by a pause for advertisements; however, in public or non-commercial radio, music is sometimes played in place of commercials to separate the program segments. Variations of talk radio include conservative talk, hot talk, liberal talk, and sports talk.
KFI is a radio station in Los Angeles, California, owned and operated by iHeartMedia, Inc. It began operations in 1922 and became one of the first high-powered, clear-channel Class A stations. It was the first U.S. station west of Chicago to broadcast at 50,000 watts. It airs a talk radio format, with mostly local hosts and frequent news and traffic updates. One nationally syndicated show is heard overnight, "Coast to Coast AM with George Noory." KFI also supplies some weekend shows for national syndication.
Al Lohman was a personality and comedian with a long career in American radio from the 1950s through the 1980s and into the 1990s. Among his early career stops was a stint as morning man at New York City top-40 station WABC (AM) when it first adopted a pop music format in 1960. But he's best remembered as a Los Angeles, California radio personality who, along with Roger Barkley, had the top-rated morning drive The Lohman and Barkley Show on KFI Los Angeles through most of the 1970s and early 1980s.

Opie and Anthony is an American radio show hosted by Gregg "Opie" Hughes and Anthony Cumia that aired from March 1995 to July 2014, with comedian Jim Norton serving as third mic from 2001. The show originated in 1994 when Cumia took part in a song parody contest on Hughes' nighttime show on WBAB on Long Island, New York. After subsequent appearances, Cumia decided to pursue a radio career and team with Hughes to host their own show.

From 2014 to 2016, Hughes and Norton stayed at SiriusXM as co-hosts of Opie with Jim Norton. In October 2016, Hughes became the host of his own show, The Opie Radio Show which lasted until his firing from SiriusXM on July 7, 2017.
Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton is an American sportscaster and radio talk show host based in San Diego, California. He was co-host of the "Hacksaw and Hayworth" show on from 6:00am–9:00am Pacific Time Monday through Friday on XEPRS-AM, known on-air as "San Diego's Sports Leader, The Mighty 1090" and he worked alongside producers Bobby Wooldridge and Alex Padilla. Hacksaw is also a regular contributor to SanDiego.com.

Jerry Bishop was an American announcer, radio host and radio personality. Bishop is best known as the announcer for the American courtroom television show, Judge Judy, for 23 years from 1997 until his death in 2020. Prior to this, Bishop enjoyed a long career as a morning show host at some of the largest radio stations in Los Angeles, including KLAC, KFI and KIIS-FM from the 1960s to the 1980s.
