Denmark was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 by the Tommy Seebach Band and "Under stjernerne på himlen", the winners of the Danish national final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1993. The song was composed by Tommy Seebach and national final host Keld Heick.

The Danish entry was selected through Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2012, a national selection organised by the Danish broadcaster DR. Soluna Samay represented Denmark with the song "Should've Known Better", which qualified from the first semi-final and went on to place 23rd in the final, scoring 21 points.

The Danish entry was selected through the national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014, organised by the Danish broadcaster DR. Basim represented Denmark with the song "Cliche Love Song", which placed 9th in the final, scoring 74 points.

Denmark participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "The Way You Are", written by Remee and Chief 1. The song was performed by the band Anti Social Media. In February 2015, Danish broadcaster DR organised the national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2015 in order to select the Danish entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria. Anti Social Media and the song "The Way You Are" emerged as the winner following the 50/50 combination of jury voting and televoting. In the first of the Eurovision semi-finals, Denmark failed to qualify to the final, placing thirteenth out of the 16 participating countries with 33 points.

Ovens, Daniel Lund Jørgensen, Katrine Klith Andersen, Søren Bregendal, Johannes Nymark and Martin Skriver. The song was performed by the group Lighthouse X. The Danish broadcaster DR organised the national final Melodi Grand Prix 2016 in order to select the Danish entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Ten songs competed in a televised show where the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. The results of the first round were decided upon through the combination of jury voting and public voting while in the second round, the winner was selected solely by public televoting. "Soldiers of Love" performed by Lighthouse X was the winner after gaining 42% of the public vote.

Denmark participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The country was represented by the song "Where I Am", performed by Anja Nissen and co-written by Australian songwriters Angel Tupai and Michael D'Arcy. The Danish broadcaster DR selected the entry through the national final Melodi Grand Prix 2017.
