Transport in Macau includes road, sea, rail and air transport. Road transport is the primary mode of transport within Macau, although a new rail system opened in December 2019 serving the areas of Taipa and Cotai. The main forms of public transport are buses and taxis.
The Macau Peninsula is the most populous and historical part of Macau. It has an area of 8.5 square kilometers (3.3 sq mi) and is geographically connected to Guangdong Province at the northeast through an isthmus 200 meters (660 ft) wide. The peninsula, together with downtown Zhuhai, sits on an island separated from the continent by distributaries of the Pearl River. The Border Gate was built on the northern isthmus. At the south, the peninsula is connected to Taipa Island by three bridges, the Friendship Bridge ; the Macau-Taipa Bridge ; and the Sai Van Bridge . The longest axis extends 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) from the Border Gate to the southwestern edge, Barra (媽閣嘴). There is a western "Inner Harbor" (內港) paralleled by an "Outer Harbor" (外港) to the east. The 93 meters (305 ft) Guia Hill (松山) is the highest point on the peninsula, which has an average elevation of 50 to 75 meters. Many coastal places are reclaimed from the sea. The Historic Centre of Macau, which is entirely on the Macau Peninsula, became a World Heritage Site in 2005.

Cotai is a 5.2-square-kilometer (2.0 sq mi) piece of newly reclaimed land on the top of the Seac Pai Bay between Taipa and Coloane islands in Macau, that has made two independent islands become one island, since 2005. Cotai, which is a portmanteau of Coloane and Taipa, can also refer to the entire new island, which was formed by the reclamation. In the second sense, the Special Administrative Region of Macau now consists of the Macau Peninsula, plus Cotai Island, about a mile to the south.

The 39-story structure on Macau's Cotai Strip has 10,500,000-square-foot (980,000 m2) of floor space, and is modeled on its sister casino resort The Venetian Las Vegas. The Macau Light Rapid Transit is a mass transit system in Macau and is also the first railway system in Macau. The first phase of the project started construction in February 2012, and the first section of the Taipa line was opened to the public on 10 December 2019, followed by the Barra Station Extend Line on 8 December 2023. MLRT is operated by MTR (Macau), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MTR.

The Cotai Arena is an indoor arena located on the premises of The Venetian Macao, on the Cotai Strip, in Macau, China. It opened in 2007 with a seating capacity of 15,000. The arena was known as Venetian Arena from 2007 to 2010, when it was renamed as CotaiArena. It hosts sporting events such as basketball, tennis and boxing, as well as concerts and internationally-televised awards shows.
Zaia was a Cirque du Soleil stage production based at The Venetian Macao on the Cotai Strip in Macau. The 90-minute show opened in August 2008, bringing together 75 high-calibre artists from around the world. Zaia was Cirque du Soleil's first resident show in Asia and was directed by Neilson Vignola and Gilles Maheu. The custom-built theater housing the performance was capable of seating 1,800 spectators at a time.
One Oasis is a Residential Complex development in Cotai, South of Macau and Hengqin Island of Zhuhai. The community facilities in the development encompass a clubhouse, a retail center, a 6-star hotel, and cultural and entertainment conventions. Phase 1 of One Oasis comprises five low-density residential towers providing 870 units. The construction of Phase 1 was scheduled to be completed in the 2nd quarter of 2013. An array of flat mixes studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom units and, 4-bedroom en-suites are offered, ranging from approximately 600 sq ft (56 m2), to over 2,000 sq ft (190 m2). Special units contain duplexes and sky houses with a minimum area of 3,000 square feet.
The Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16 is a hotel in Santo António, Macau. It is part of Sofitel Luxury Hotels. Since opening its doors in 2008, Sofitel Macau and the management have been credited a number of tourism awards.
The Londoner Macao is a casino resort on the Cotai Strip, Macau. On 5 August 2011, Sands China announced that the $4 billion property, long referred to as parcels five and six, would be officially named Sands Cotai Central. The first portion of the resort opened on 11 April 2012. The resort was rebranded as The Londoner Macao in 2021. The resort's redesign was completed in May 2023.
The 10th International Indian Film Academy Awards were a major film awards ceremony honoring the best Bollywood films of 2008. The ceremony was held in The Venetian Macao, Macau from 11 June to 13 June 2009. The choice of Macau as host city was considered a well-planned decision, aimed at reducing tensions between India and China, as well as to end the "deadlock" between the two countries over the issue of exchange of cinema. The ceremony was hosted by Boman Irani, Ritesh Deshmukh and Lara Dutta.
The Parisian Macao is a casino resort on the Cotai Strip in Cotai, Macau, China owned by Las Vegas Sands, which features a half-scale Eiffel Tower as one its landmarks. It was originally expected to be operational in late 2015, with that later changed to August 2016. The hotel officially opened on 13 September 2016.
