The 2014 WPA World Nine-ball Championship was the 23rd edition of the 9-Ball pool World Championships. It took place from June 16 to 27, 2014 in the al-Attiya Sports Arena of the Al-Arabi Sports Club in Doha. The Qatari capital was the fifth time in a row the venue for the 9-Ball Championships.

Dutch Niels Feijen defeated Austria's Albin Ouschan in the final, winning 1310. [2] Defending champion Thorsten Hohmann would lose in the round of 64, to Marco Teutscher. [3]

Tournament format

The tournament was attended by 128 players. In the preliminary round was played in the double elimination tournament system. [4] Winners of these games would qualify for the final round, which is played in the knockout system. [5] [6]

A series of qualifying tournaments were held from June 21 to 23. It was the 2011 edition of the WPA World Nine-ball Championship, which was first held in 1990. The 2012 WPA World Nine-ball Championship was a professional nine-ball pocket billiards (pool) championship, sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and organised by Matchroom Sport. The 2019 WPA World Ten-ball Championship was a professional pool tournament for the discipline of ten-ball organised by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and CueSports International. It was the fifth WPA World Ten-ball Championship; the previous championship was held in 2015. After plans for an event in both 2016 and 2018 to be held in Manila fell through, a 2019 event at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas as part of a three-year deal for the event to be played in the United States was agreed. The event was held concurrently with the Billiard Congress of America's National Ten-ball event from July 22 to 26. The event was sponsored by cue manufacturer Predator Group.

The Dynamic Billard Leende Open 2019 was a nine-ball pool tournament, and the first Euro Tour event of 2019. The event was held between 7–10 February 2019, at the Golden Tulip Jagershorst hotel in Leende, Netherlands. The event was won by Germany's Joshua Filler, who defeated Ruslan Chinakhov 9–7 in the final. This was Filler's first Euro Tour win, having previously been a runner-up at three previous events.

Jason Klatt is a Canadian professional pool player. Klatt has represented Canada at three straight World Cup of Pool events, between 2009 and 2011. Klatt's best performance at a world championship came at the 2014 WPA World Nine-ball Championship, where he reached the last 32, before losing to Carlo Biado 11–5.

The 2022 WPA World Ten-ball Championship was a professional pool tournament for the discipline of ten-ball organised by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and CueSports International. It was the seventh WPA World Ten-ball Championship. Held in Las Vegas, the event started on March 28 with the championship match on April 1. The event featured a prize fund of $226,000.
