The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations. In 1981 the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation (BWF).

The BWF Super Series was a series of Grade 2 badminton tournaments, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was launched on December 14, 2006 and implemented in 2007.

The 2007 BWF Super Series was the inaugural season of the BWF Super Series. It was held from January 16 with Malaysia Open and end on December 2, 2007. It was expected to end on December 23, 2007 with Super Series Finals; this event was postponed and later cancelled due to an uncertain circumstance.

The 2008 BWF Super Series was the second season of the BWF Super Series. The season spanned between the continental of Asia and Europe and was starting with Malaysia Open from January 15 and ended with Hong Kong Open on November 30, 2008. The top eight ranked players competed in the Masters Finals in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia from December 18 to December 21, 2008.

The 2009 BWF Super Series was the third season of the BWF Super Series. Like the previous season, the twelve tournaments were all hosted by nations in Asia and Europe with the Malaysia Open as the opening tournament and China Open as the final tournament in the season.

The 2010 BWF Super Series was the fourth season of the BWF Super Series. Like the previous season, the twelve tournaments were all hosted by nations in Asia and Europe with the Korea Open as the opening tournament and the Hong Kong Open as the final tournament in the season.

The 2011 BWF Super Series was the fifth season of the BWF Super Series. This season marked the beginning of a three-year cycle of the event, the second after the first four-year one from 2007 to 2010. A few changes were announced by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), as the India Open was promoted up one stage from the Grand Prix Gold level, while the Swiss Open was dropped from the Super Series. Five tournaments were promoted to become slightly higher-level Super Series Premier events with more prize money awarded than in the Super Series tournaments.

The 2012 BWF Super Series was the sixth season of the BWF Super Series. The season started with a Super Series Premier event in Korea and ended in Hong Kong. The season-ending Masters Finals were held in Shenzhen, China from December 12–16, 2012.

The 2013 BWF Super Series was the seventh season of the BWF Super Series. The season started with a Super Series Premier in Korea and ended in Hong Kong. The Masters Finals was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Reginald Lee Chun Hei is a Hong Kong badminton player. He is a former Asian Champion and World Championships bronze medalist in the mixed doubles category partnered with Chau Hoi Wah.

The BWF Future Series is a grade 3 and level 3 tournaments part of Continental Circuit of BWF tournaments along with International Challenge and International Series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF) since 2007.

The 23 tournaments were divided into five levels: Level 1 is the said World Tour Finals, Level 2 called Super 1000, Level 3 called Super 750, Level 4 called Super 500 and Level 5 called Super 300. Each of these tournaments offered different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool were offered at the Super 1000 level.

The 2022 BWF World Tour was the fifth season of the BWF World Tour of badminton, a circuit of 20 tournaments which led up to the World Tour Finals tournament. The 20 tournaments were divided into five levels: Level 1 was the said World Tour Finals, Level 2 called Super 1000, Level 3 called Super 750, Level 4 called Super 500 and Level 5 called Super 300. Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool were offered at the Super 1000 level.

The 2006 BWF Super Series was the twenty-fourth, and the last edition of the IBF World Grand Prix of badminton. It was replaced by the BWF Super Series & BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix for the 2007 season.
