The 2018 Badminton Asia Team Championships was the second edition of Badminton Asia Team Championships, held at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium in Alor Setar, Malaysia, from 6 to 11 February 2018 and were organised by the Badminton Asia. This tournament also served as the Asian qualification for the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup. [1] [2]

Tournament

The 2018 Badminton Asia Team Championships officially crowned the best male and female national badminton teams in Asia and at the same time worked as the Asian qualification event towards the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup finals. 28 teams, consisting of 15 men's teams and 13 women's teams entered the tournament. This tournament was held at Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium in Alor Setar, Malaysia.

Draw

The draw was held on 23 January 2018, at the tournament venue. The men's team group stage consisted of one group with three teams and three groups each with four teams. The women's team group stage consisted of three groups each with three teams and one group with four teams.

The 2019 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships were the second edition of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships which was held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong from 19 to 24 March 2019. It was organised by Badminton Asia and Hong Kong Badminton Association. The event was also known as the Tong Yun Kai Cup 2019.

The group stage of the 2019 Sudirman Cup was the first stage of the competition. It was held at Guangxi Sports Center in Nanning, China, from 19 to 22 May. For Group 1, the top two teams from each group advanced to the final knockout stage to compete in a single-elimination tournament. The 2020 Badminton Asia Team Championships was the third edition of Badminton Asia Team Championships, staged at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila, Philippines, from 11 to 16 February 2020. This championships was organized by the Badminton Asia with Philippine Badminton Association as host organiser and sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. This tournament served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup in Denmark. Competitors could also accumulate points as part of qualification process for 2020 Summer Olympics badminton tournament in Tokyo. Indonesia and Japan were the defending champions on men's and women's category respectively. They both successfully defended their title.

The 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships was the fourth edition of Badminton Asia Team Championships, held at Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, from 15 to 20 February 2022. This championships was organised by the Badminton Asia with Badminton Association of Malaysia as the host organiser. It was sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. It served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup in Thailand. Indonesia, the three-time champions, and Japan were the defending champions of the men's and women's category respectively.

The teams event of the 2022 BWF World Junior Championships was held from 17 – 22 October 2022. The event is also known as the 2022 Suhandinata Cup. Indonesia was the champion of the last edition held in Kazan, Russia.

The 2023 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships were the third edition of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships which was held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 14 to 19 February 2023. It was organised by Badminton Asia and United Arab Emirates Badminton Federation. The event was also known as the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships 2023.

The teams event of the 2023 Badminton Asia Junior Championships is being held from 7–11 July 2023. Thailand was the champion of the last edition held in Suzhou, China in 2019 before COVID-19 pandemic.

The badminton men's team tournament at the 2022 Asian Games took place from 28 September to 1 October at Binjiang Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China. The draw for the team event was held on 27 September.
