The 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards ceremony took place June 15, 2019 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, with host Zachary Levi, and was broadcast two days later on June 17, 2019. [1] [2] It was the 28th edition of the awards and the third to jointly honor movies and television.

MTV announced Lizzo's performance on May 16, 2019, alongside a performance by Martin Garrix with Macklemore and Patrick Stump of Summer Days, but on June 10, it was announced that they would no longer perform and Bazzi would perform instead. [3] [4]

The following is a list for the MTV Movie & TV Award winners for Best Scared-As-Shit Performance. The award was first given out in 2005, and then in 2006. In 2010 this award was renamed from Best Frightened Performance and renamed to Most Frightened Performance in 2022. The award was not presented in 2012. In 2013, it was given back its original name, Best Scared-As-Shit Performance. As of 2016, there have been seven winners of the award with five women and two men. Actresses Dakota Fanning, Jessica Chastain and Victoria Pedretti hold the distinction of the only people to hold more than one nomination in the category, with Fanning winning the inaugural award in 2005 and Pedretti winning in 2021. The award returned in 2018 under the title Best Frightened Performance.

<i>Shazam!</i> (film) 2019 DC Studios film

Shazam! is a 2019 superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Produced by New Line Cinema, DC Films, the Safran Company, and Seven Bucks Productions, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is the seventh installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). It was directed by David F. Sandberg from a screenplay by Henry Gayden who co-wrote the story with Darren Lemke, and stars Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Djimon Hounsou. The film follows teenager Billy Batson (Angel) as he is chosen by the ancient wizard Shazam (Hounsou) to be his new champion by saying the name "Shazam", allowing him to transform into an adult superhero (Levi) with various superpowers. Billy and his foster brother Freddy Freeman (Grazer) must discover Billy's new powers in order to stop the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong) and the Seven Deadly Sins.

Girls Trip is a 2017 American comedy film starring Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish, and Jada Pinkett Smith. The film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee and written by Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver, from a story by the pair and Erica Rivinoja, who based the script off their own experiences with their female friends. Along with Lee, the film was produced by Will Packer under his Will Packer Productions banner. It follows a group of four friends who go to New Orleans to attend the Essence Music Festival in order to reconnect after a long time.

The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards was held on August 20, 2018 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The 35th annual award show aired live from the venue for the 12th time, the most of any previous venue in its history. Cardi B led the list of nominees with twelve nominations. Cardi and Childish Gambino were the most awarded of the night with three each. Camila Cabello won Video of the Year and Artist of the Year, while Jennifer Lopez became the first Latino to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. This edition of the MTV Video Music Awards saw yet another severe drop in ratings, only achieving a mere 2.2 million viewers on MTV, and only seeing 4.87 million viewers on all of its sister networks.

Red Table Talk is an American talk show starring Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Jada's mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris. The series premiered on May 7, 2018 on Facebook Watch, and would run for 5 seasons and 129 episodes on the streaming service. The series also spawned a spinoff, Red Table Talk: The Estefans, led by Gloria Estefan, Emily Estefan and Lili Estefan. Facebook Watch would cancel the series in April 2023, although the series producers, Westbrook Studios, is reportedly seeking a new home for the series.
