The following is a list of the MTV Movie Award winners and nominees for Best Duo. The award was given from 1996 to 2000 as Best On-Screen Duo, and 2001 to 2006 as Best On-Screen Team. It returned in 2016 as Best Cast, before returning as Best On-Screen Duo from 2013 to 2015, Ensemble Cast in 2016, Best Duo in 2017, and Best On-Screen Team in 2018. It was replaced with Best Team in 2022, and Best Duo in 2023. [1]

The 2002 MTV Movie Awards were presented on June 6, 2002, hosted by Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jack Black, and featured performances by The White Stripes, Kelly Osbourne and Eminem. It was the 11th Annual MTV Movie Awards. This year, MTV added four new award categories, but their winners didn't appear in the TV Show: "Favorite Line", "Best Cameo", "Best Dressed" and "Best Music Moment". The "Best Song" category disappeared, and the "Best Dance Sequence" category returned. "Best On-Screen Duo" became "Best On-Screen Team".

The 2000 MTV Movie Awards were hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker. In conjunction with the success of Sex and the City, the awards show presented a parody of Sex and the City and The Matrix during the program's opening. It featured the SATC cast as they listened intently as Carrie Bradshaw describes getting caught in the Matrix, which is shown in flashbacks and in the narration style heard usually on the TV series. Laurence Fishburne appeared in the spoof in a creative superimposition from the film, as well as Vince Vaughn and Jimmy Fallon, who played Keanu Reeves's character, Neo, from the film. Also, it noted Parker's status as a fashion icon by appearing in no less than 15 different costumes during the duration of the awards ceremonies, even appearing in nothing but a bath towel.
The Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Castin a Motion Picture is an award given by the Screen Actors Guild to honor the finest acting achievements in film. It is the final award presented during the ceremony.

He also starred in the CBS legal drama series Reckless. From 2016 to 2018, Gigandet starred in the Audience Network drama series Ice.

In 2012, the award was renamed Best On-Screen Dirt Bag, though the Best Villain moniker was reinstated the following year. Two of the winners also won Academy Awards for their performances. In 1999, Best Villain had a tie for Matt Dillon and Stephen Dorff. Aaliyah and Heath Ledger in 2002 and 2009 respectively were both posthumously nominated. Daniel Radcliffe is the first recipient to win both this and Best Hero. Dwayne Johnson, Ewan McGregor and Tom Cruise have each received nominations in both categories, but never won in either. In 2017, when the award became the MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Villain, Jeffrey Dean Morgan was the first TV recipient to win.

They gained popularity by making regular appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, after posting a cover version of the Nicki Minaj song "Super Bass" that became popular on YouTube. The video was posted to YouTube in September 2011 and has gained more than 55 million views as of May 2022.
