The 2022 Calgary Stampeders season was the 64th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 77th overall. The Stampeders qualified for the playoffs for the 17th straight year following their victory over the BC Lions on September 24, 2022. [1] However, the team was defeated by the BC Lions in the West Semi-Final. The 2022 CFL season was Dave Dickenson's sixth season as head coach and John Hufnagel's 14th season as general manager.

CFL Global Draft

The 2022 CFL Global Draft took place on May 3, 2022. [2] With the format being a snake draft, the Stampeders selected seventh in the odd-numbered rounds and third in the even-numbered rounds. [3]

CFL National Draft

The 2022 CFL Draft took place on May 3, 2022. [2] [4] The Stampeders had the fifth selection in each of the eight rounds of the draft after losing the West Semi-Final and finishing fifth in the 2021 league standings. [5]

The 2008 CFL season was the 55th season of modern-day Canadian football, the 51st season for the Canadian Football League. It was also the first CFL season in which all of the league's regular season and post-season games, including the Grey Cup game, were aired on TSN. This meant the CFL was no longer aired on broadcast television in Canada. As of 2008, TSN was available in approximately 8.8 million of Canada's 13 million households. Montreal hosted the 96th Grey Cup at Olympic Stadium on November 23, when the championship was won by the Calgary Stampeders.

The 2014 CFL season was the 61st season of modern-day Canadian football. It was the 57th Canadian Football League season. Vancouver hosted the 102nd Grey Cup on November 30. The league expanded to nine teams with the addition of the Ottawa Redblacks, giving the CFL nine teams for the first time since the 2005 season. As a result of the expansion, the schedule shifted to a 20-week regular season plus three weeks of playoffs ; the season started on June 26, 2014.

The 2020 CFL Draft took place on April 30, 2020 at 8:00 pm ET and was broadcast on TSN and RDS. 73 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. This was the second year in a row that featured territorial picks after they were re-introduced in the 2019 CFL Draft.

The 2021 CFL National Draft was a selection of National players by Canadian Football League teams that took place at May 4, 2021 at 7:00 pm ET and was broadcast on TSN and RDS. 54 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. Unlike previous drafts, where the selection order was determined by the previous year's standings, this year's draft order was determined by a random draw.

The regular season began on August 5 and ended November 20. Each team played 14 regular season games over 16 weeks. Previously, the season was scheduled to begin on June 10 and end on October 30, with 18 games being played per team over 21 weeks, but this was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. Hamilton hosted the 108th Grey Cup on December 12, 2021.

Training camps, pre-season games, and regular season games were initially postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On May 20, 2020, it was announced that the league would likely not begin regular season play prior to September 2020. On August 17, 2020 however, the season was officially cancelled due to COVID-19.

The 2021 Toronto Argonauts season was the 63rd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 148th year of existence. The Argonauts improved on their 4-14 record from their previous season in 2019 with a win in week 10 against the Ottawa Redblacks on October 6, 2021. The team qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2017, on October 30, 2021, with a win over the BC Lions. The Argonauts won the 109th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers by a score of 24–23. This was the 18th time the Argonauts have won the championship, a league record. The Argonauts held their training camp on the campus of the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario.

The 2022 Saskatchewan Roughriders season was the 64th season for the team in the Canadian Football League. It was the club's 113th year overall, and its 106th season of play. The Roughriders were eliminated from post-season contention on October 22, 2022, following a loss to the Calgary Stampeders. The Roughriders failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2016. The 2022 CFL season was the third season under head coach Craig Dickenson and general manager Jeremy O'Day.

The 2022 Winnipeg Blue Bombers season was the 64th season for the team in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and their 89th season overall. The Blue Bombers entered the season as the two-time defending Grey Cup champions after winning both the 107th and 108th Grey Cup games. The team qualified for the playoffs following their 12th game of the season after defeating the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Labour Day Classic on September 4, 2022.
