The 2022 Cuban National Series was the 61st season of the league. [1] This was the first season that the league did not play a schedule spanning two calendar years, as the regular season began on 23 January and ended on 22 May. [2] In the series' final round, contested in June, Granma defeated Matanzas in a rematch of the prior season's final. [3]

Francisco "Pancho" Coimbre Atiles, more commonly known as Pancho Coimbre, was a Puerto Rican professional baseball player. He was born in the municipality of Coamo and moved to Ponce early in his life. It was in Ponce where he would begin to actively participate in sports, both in sprinting and baseball. Coimbre played thirteen seasons in the Puerto Rican Professional Baseball League (LBPPR), with the Leones de Ponce. During this period the team won five league championships. He finished his career with an average of .337, and had an average of 2.2 strikeouts per season, this included four consecutive seasons from 1939 to 1942, without any strikeouts. Coimbre also won two LBPPR batting titles and the league's Most Valuable Player Award in 1943.

The 49th Cuban National Series was won by Industriales over Villa Clara. Sancti Spíritus, who had the best regular season record, lost in the first round. Defending champion La Habana were eliminated in the semifinals.

The 2011–12 Cuban National Series was the 51st edition of the tournament. Due to the division of La Habana Province, there were 17 teams participating. The tournament began on November 27 with a game between Ciego de Avila and Pinar del Río. The regular season finished on April 22; the final game of the playoffs was played on May 28 with Ciego de Avila beating Industriales.

The 2012–13 Cuban National Series was the 52nd season of the league. Villa Clara defeated Matanzas in the series' final round.

The 2013–14 Cuban National Series was the 53rd season of the league. Pinar del Río defeated Matanzas in the series' final round.

The 2015–16 Cuban National Series was the 55th season of the league. Ciego de Ávila defeated Pinar del Río in the series' final round. This was the first time a reigning champion had retained their title in eight seasons.

The 2016–17 Cuban National Series was the 56th season of the league. Granma defeated Ciego de Ávila in the series' final round, in a four-game sweep.

The 2014–15 Cuban National Series was the 54th season of the league. Ciego de Ávila defeated Isla de la Juventud in the series' final round. This was the first finals appearance for Isla de la Juventud, and the third for Ciego de Ávila.

The 2017–18 Cuban National Series was the 57th season of the league. Granma defeated Las Tunas in the series' final round to repeat as champions.

The 2018–19 Cuban National Series was the 58th season of the league. Las Tunas defeated Villa Clara in the series' final round to capture their first championship.

The 2019–20 Cuban National Series was the 59th season of the league. Matanzas defeated Camagüey in the series' final round to capture their first championship.

The 2020–21 Cuban National Series was the 60th season of the league. Granma defeated defending champion Matanzas in the series' final round.

The 2023 Cuban National Series was the 62nd season of the league. No longer playing a winter league schedule, the regular season began on 29 March and ended on 3 July. In the series' final playoff round, contested in August, Las Tunas defeated Industriales in a four-game sweep. It was Las Tunas second league championship, having previously won in 2018–19.
