Municipal elections were held in Kuwait on 21 May 2022 to elect 10 of the 16 members of the Municipal Council. Thirty-eight candidates including one woman ran in eight constituencies. The elections were held in 443 committees distributed over 76 schools. [1] The number of registered voters were 438,283.
Any Kuwaiti-born citizen who is 30 years of age on election day, who is able to read and write in Arabic and has not been convicted of a felony or a crime involving breach of honor or trust is eligible to run for office. Registration of candidates took place between 14 and 23 April 2022. [2]
Forty candidates including one women, Zainab Al-Hasawi, registered in the ten constituencies. Two got immediate victory after running unopposed, an event occurring for the first in Kuwait’s electoral history. [3]
No elections were held in the seventh and tenth constituencies due to having one applicant registering in the election, giving them automatic victory per local laws. [4]
Turnout in the 2022 election was 22.32%. Only three out of the ten members of 2018 Municipal Council, Hassan Kamal, Abdulaziz Al-Mehri and Fuhaid Al-Muwaizri, kept their seats. Resulting in a rate of change of 70%. [5] No women won in this election.

On May 31, the Cabinet of Kuwait approved the six appointed members which included four women. They are Muneera Al-Amir, Shareefa Al-Shalfan, Alyaa Al-Farsi, Farah Al-Ruomi, Ismael Behbehani and Abdulateef Al-Deei. [6] The first session took place on 8 June 2022. During the opening session, Abdulaziz Al-Mehri was elected as speaker of Municipal Council unopposed. Khaled Al-Mutairi was also elected unopposed as Deputy speaker. [7]
The Municipal council announced on 22 April 2024, the vacancy of the sixth and ninth constituencies (two members of the municipal council in the 13th legislative term). The Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Interior addressed reports to the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs with respect to affirming that Al-Kafif had been acquitted of a verdict and Al Muwaizri registered as candidate for the parliament elections 2024. Hence, By-Elections were to be held on 18 May 2024 for the sixth and ninth constituencies. On 18 May 2024, ten nominees contested for the sixth constituency with over 79,754 voters registered and eight nominees contested for the ninth constituency with over 134,683 voters registered. The by-elections took place between 8 am until 8 pm in 194 polling stations organized at 26 schools. [8] [9] Waleed Al-Dagher and Fahad Al-Ajmi won seats of the sixth and ninth constituencies, respectively. Each received 3,322 and 10,404 votes repectively. [10]
Elections in Belgium are organised for legislative bodies only, and not for executive functions. Direct elections take place for the European Parliament, the Chamber of Representatives, the Parliaments of the Regions, the Parliaments of the Communities, the provincial councils, the municipal councils and the councils of Districts of Antwerp. Voting is mandatory and all elections use proportional representation which in general requires coalition governments.
Al Gharrafa is a Qatari district of Al Rayyan City, which is located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. In close proximity to Education City and a part of the Doha Metropolitan Area, the Doha Expressway and Al Shamal Highway run along the district. Many malls operate out of the area. To the east, it neighbors the largely residential areas of Duhail and Madinat Khalifa North, therefore Al Gharrafa is largely a retail hub for nearby residential areas. Doha's downtown is 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to the southeast.
Parliamentary elections were held in the United Arab Emirates on 24 September 2011 to elect the half of the members of Federal National Council. The elections were held using electoral colleges, which were expanded from around 6,689 members in the 2006 elections to 129,274. However, only 35,877 voters voted, with a voter turnout of 27.75%.
Municipal elections in Qatar were held for the fifth time on 13 May 2015. Five women contested the polls as candidates. Two women were elected to the Central Municipal Council (CMC) after winning their constituencies, heralding the first time two women have occupied seats in the council. This round of elections witnessed the merging of a number of depopulated constituencies and the addition of several new constituencies.

Located more than 100 kilometres (62 mi) north of Qatar's capital Doha, the city was founded in the 1970s, shortly after the country gained independence. It was delimited in 1988 and shares its boundaries with Ar Ru'ays to the east and Abu Dhalouf to the west.

Muaither is a district of Al Rayyan City in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan.
Al-Rayyan is a city in the similarly named municipality of Al Rayyan, in Qatar. The city and its suburbs comprise the largest population center in Qatar outside of Doha proper, immediately to its east. Consisting of all of the districts in the municipality's easternmost section, its western boundary is roughly where the Al Majd Highway runs through the municipality. The city is a part of the Doha Metropolitan Area. It was one of the venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Muraikh is a district of Al Rayyan City in the municipality of Al Rayyan in Qatar.
Hamad Mohammed Al-Midlij is a Kuwaiti politician who is currently serving as a member of National Assembly since 2023. He also served in the annulled 2022 session. Hamad also served as an elected member of the 2018 Municipal council.
On 11 December 2021, local elections were held in Palestine. 154 towns and villages in the West Bank voted in municipal polls in the first phase, but there were no elections in the Gaza Strip.
General elections were held in Kuwait on 29 September 2022 following the dissolution of parliament by Crown Prince Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. However, the results were annulled by the Constitutional Court on 19 March 2023 after judges ruled that the previous parliament had not been dissolved properly.

The Kuwait Municipality is an independent public authority located in Kuwait City. The municipality carries out its work through an elected municipal council whose task is to take care of citizens’ interests, which in turn is subject to the supervision of the minister. The Municipal Council is planning, directing and controlling, and the Municipal Director and the Executive Authority works to complete and implement the work.
Snap general elections were held in Kuwait on 6 June 2023 to elect 50 of the 65 members of the National Assembly. The elections took place following the annulment of the results of the 2022 snap elections by the Constitutional Court on 19 March 2023 and the redissolution of the 16th session on 2 May.
The 2023 Kuwaiti National Assembly was the 17th legislative session of the National Assembly. Members were elected on 6 June 2023. The session started on 20 June 2023. The session was dissolved on 15 February 2024 due to Abdulkarim Al-Kanderi allegedly insulting Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad.

Snap general elections were held in Kuwait on 4 April 2024 to elect 50 of the 65 members of the National Assembly. The election came after the dissolution of the National Assembly elected in 2023 on 15 February 2024 due to an MP allegedly insulting Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad. The elections were the first to be held during Mishal Al-Ahmad's reign and the fourth election held within four years.
