The 2023 NBL Uganda season was the 27th season of the National Basketball League of Uganda, organised by the FUBA. The season began on 19 March and ended on 25 October 2023.

Contents

The City Oilers won a record-extending 9th consecutive national championship, after edging the KIU Titans 4–2 in the finals of the playoffs. [1] The season was marked by the withdrawal of second-seeded Namuwongo Blazers ahead of the playoffs. [2]

Regular season

The regular season began on 19 March and ended 10 September 2023. [3] The Namuwongo Blazers withdrew from the league ahead of the playoffs as a protest by the federation's decision that the winner of the previous season had already qualified for the 2024 BAL qualification. [2]

Namuwongo Blazers, commonly known as Nam Blazers, are an Ugandan basketball team based in Namuwongo, Kampala. They are playing in the NBL Uganda, the country's top level league.

The 2023 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 3, was the third season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 11 March 2023 and ended on 27 May 2023. The playoffs were played in the BK Arena in Kigali, which hosted the final stage for a third season in a row. The regular season was played in Dakar, Senega and Cairo, Egypt, both venues hosted a conference for a second year in a row.

The 2022 NBL Uganda season was the 26th season of the National Basketball League of Uganda, organised by the FUBA. The season began on March 11, 2022 and ended on October 15, 2022.

The 2019–20 NBL Uganda season was the 25th season of the National Basketball League of Uganda, organised by the FUBA. The season began on April 12, 2019, and ended on January 19, 2020.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2024 BAL season</span> 4th season of the Basketball Africa League

The 2024 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 4, will be the 4th season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season will begin on 9 March 2024 and will finish with the final on 1 June 2024, which will be played in the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, for a fourth consecutive season.

The qualification for the 2024 BAL season, also known as Road to BAL 2024, was the 4th edition of the qualifying tournaments for the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The tournaments were organised by FIBA Africa and are held from 3 October to 26 November 2023. The format was the same as to the previous seasons, with the competition divided in the group phase and the elite 16.
