USL League One (USL1) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that had its inaugural season in 2019. The Division III league is operated by United Soccer League, the same group that operates the Division II USL Championship and other leagues. As of 2024, the league has 12 teams who play 22 regular season games, followed by playoffs. All teams also participate in the USL Cup, adding an additional eight games, followed by knockout rounds.

The 2018 USL season was the eighth season of the United Soccer League and second under Division II sanctioning. The previous season, the USL had provisional Div. II sanctioning from the United States Soccer Federation along with the North American Soccer League, but was given full sanctioning for the 2018 season with a two-year deadline to meet the full requirements set by U.S. Soccer.

The 2018 season was Penn FC's 15th season of competitive soccer, its second in the second division of American soccer, and its eighth and final season in the United Soccer League, now known as the USL Championship. Oakland Roots Sports Club is an American professional soccer team based in Oakland, California. The club was formed in 2018 by a group of Oakland natives, and began play in the National Independent Soccer Association in the fall of 2019. In 2021, the club joined the second division USL Championship.

The 2019–20 NISA season was the inaugural season of the National Independent Soccer Association's third-division soccer competition. The regular season was split into two halves, fall and spring, with playoffs at the end. The fall season, named "NISA Showcase", featured seven teams, with the East and West champions earning berths into the 2020 playoffs. The spring season featured eight teams, and switches to a single table format, the top 3 teams joining California United Strikers in the playoffs.

The 2020 season was the 108th season of competitive soccer in the United States. Many of the competitions were significantly altered, postponed, or cancelled in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2024 Lexington SC season is the club's second season since their establishment on October 5, 2021. The club will be competing in their second season in USL League One and will be part of the inaugural USL1 in-season tournament. They made their 2nd ever appearance in the U.S. Open Cup on March 19, falling 3–4 to amateur USL League Two side Vermont Green FC in what was the first-ever cup match played in the state, and LSC became the first professional club to play a competitive match in Vermont.

The 2024 Portland Timbers season is the 38th season in their existence and the 14th season for the Portland Timbers in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top-flight professional soccer league in the United States and Canada.
