Hengdian World Studios

Hengdian World Studios is a film studio located in Hengdian, a Chinese town in the city of Dongyang, Zhejiang Province. It is the largest film studio in the world. The movie studio is operated by the privately owned Hengdian Group founded by Xu Wenrong. Sometimes called "Chinawood", Xu turned acres of farmland in central Zhejiang into one of the largest movie studios in Asia. Construction began in the mid-1990s and has been ongoing ever since with the possible recent addition of the replica of the Old Summer Palace. A film about extras working at the studio, I Am Somebody, was released in China in 2015.

Mao Dun Literature Prize is a prize for novels, established in the will of prominent Chinese writer Mao Dun and sponsored by the China Writers Association. Awarded every four years, it is one of the most prestigious literature prizes in China. It was first awarded in 1982.

The Twenty-four Filial Exemplars, also translated as The Twenty-four Paragons of Filial Piety, is a classic text of Confucian filial piety written by Guo Jujing (郭居敬) during the Yuan dynasty (1260–1368). The text was extremely influential in the medieval Far East and was used to teach Confucian moral values.

Deng Wei Hon FRPS was a Chinese portrait photographer who was a professor at Tsinghua University, China. He was known for his photographic projects such as the Chinese Cultural Celebrity Portrait project, and the World Celebrities project.

Xu Qing, known also as Summer Qing, is a Chinese actress. She was accepted into the acting class of Beijing Film Academy in 1988 and graduated in 1992.

Xu Qinxian was a Chinese major general of the People's Liberation Army. As commander of the 38th Group Army, he refused the order to use force against demonstrators in Beijing during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests. As a result, Xu was court-martialed, jailed for five years and expelled from the Communist Party of China. After serving his sentence, he was exiled to Shijiazhuang, Hebei, where he spent the remainder of his life.

Xu Zheng is a Chinese actor and director best known for acting in comedic roles. Xu directed, co-wrote, co-produced and starred in Lost in Thailand (2012) and Lost in Hong Kong (2015), two of the highest-grossing films in China. He also co-produced and starred in Dying to Survive (2018).

Wang Luodan is a Chinese actress and singer. She rose to fame because with the TV series Struggle (2007). She became increasingly popular after starring in My Youthfulness (2009) and A Story of Lala's Promotion (2010). Wang has also established herself in films Driverless (2010), Caught in the Web (2012) and The Dead End (2015). Due to her popularity, she was named one of the new New Four Dan Actresses in 2009. In 2013, she won Golden Rooster Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film Caught in the Web. Li ranked 74th on Forbes China Celebrity 100 list in 2014.

The Lao She Literary Award is named after the Chinese patriot and novelist Lao She, whose work and activism made him one of the most influential figures in 20th-century Chinese literature. The award is awarded to a Beijing writer every two to three years, recognising literary excellence in novels, novellas, drama, film, television, and radio. It is sponsored by the Lao She Literature Fund which was founded in 1988. The prize was established in 1999, and was first awarded in 2000. It is Beijing's highest prize for literature and the arts, and is one of the four major literary awards in China (the Mao Dun Prize for Literature, Lu Xun Literary Prize, and the Cao Yu Prize for Playwriting.

Tham Yew Chin, known by her pseudonym You Jin (尤今), is a Singaporean writer. She received the Cultural Medallion Award in 2009 for her contributions to Singapore's literary arts scene.

<i>Dear Mom</i> (TV series)

Dear Mom is a 2014 Taiwanese television series produced by Sanlih E-Television. Starring Ling Hung, Joanne Tseng, Albee Huang, Beatrice Fang, Shiou Chieh Kai, Melvin Sia, Duncan Chow and Jack Lee as the main cast. The Chinese title literally translates to "My Four Precious Daughters", which is in reference to the four main female characters of the drama. Filming began on December 1, 2014 and will be filmed as the drama aired. First original broadcast began December 16, 2014 on SETTV channel airing weekly from Monday till Friday at 8:00-9:00 pm.

Feng Yan is a Chinese independent documentary film maker. She was raised in Tianjin and attended Tianjin Foreign Studies University, graduating in 1984 with a degree in Japanese literature. Yan later moved to Japan in 1988 where she studied agricultural economy at Kyoto University. In 1992, Yan worked as a translator in Tokyo where she had the opportunity to learn about documentary film.

Yang Jie was a Chinese television director and producer best known for her work Journey to the West, adapted from the 16th century Ming dynasty novelist Wu Cheng'en's classical novel of the same title.

Li Lianxiu was a Chinese military and police commander with the rank of lieutenant general. A veteran of the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Chinese Civil War, and the Korean War, he was appointed Commander of the 38th Army of the People's Liberation Army in 1978. In 1984, he was appointed the second Commander of the People's Armed Police (PAP), a year after its founding, serving until his retirement in 1990.
