    The Texas Senate is the upper house of the Texas Legislature, with the Texas House of Representatives being the lower house. Together, they compose the state legislature of the state of Texas.

    The 78th Texas Legislature met from January 14 to June 2, 2003 in regular session, and in three called sessions in 2003, and a fourth called session in 2004. All members of the House of Representatives and all members of the Senate were elected in the 2002 General Election.

    The 3rd Texas Legislature met from November 5, 1849 to December 3, 1850 in its regular session and two called sessions. All members of the House of Representatives and about half of the members of the Senate were elected in 1849.

    The Ninety-Ninth Wisconsin Legislature was convened on January 5, 2009. The session was scheduled to end on January 3, 2011, and the final adjournment for regular legislative activity occurred on May 26, 2010. During the course of the 99th Legislature, there were two special sessions and four extraordinary sessions called for various legislative purposes.

    The 55th Texas Legislature met from January 8, 1957, to May 23, 1957, and in two special sessions in November - December of that same year. All members present during this session were elected in the 1956 general elections.
