The 75th Venice International Film Festival was held from 29 August to 8 September 2018.

Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro was the Jury President of the main competition. ^{[1] [2]} First Man , directed by Damien Chazelle, was the festival's opening film. ^[3] Michele Riondino was the host of the festival. ^[4]

The festival poster was made by Italian artist Lorenzo Mattotti, who designed it in the way "that attracts the eye, that attracts thought, but without revealing too much." ^[5]

The Golden Lion was awarded to Roma , directed by Alfonso Cuarón. ^[6]
