The Lady Margaret's Professor of Divinity is the oldest professorship at the University of Cambridge. It was founded initially as a readership by Lady Margaret Beaufort, mother of King Henry VII, in 1502. Since its re-endowment at the end of the 20th century, it is now specifically a chair in New Testament and early Christian studies.
The Regius Professorship of Engineering is a professorship at the University of Cambridge, established in 2011. Andrew Christopher Fabian is a British astronomer and astrophysicist. He was Director of the Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge from 2013 to 2018. He was a Royal Society Research Professor at the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge from 1982 to 2013, and Vice-Master of Darwin College, Cambridge from 1997 to 2012. He served as president of the Royal Astronomical Society from May 2008 through to 2010.
The Turing Talk, previously known as the Turing Lecture, is an annual award lecture delivered by a noted speaker on the subject of Computer Science. Herbert Henry Farmer was a British Presbyterian minister, philosopher of religion, and academic. Having served in pastoral ministry from 1919 to 1931, he moved into academia as a member of the staff of Hartford Seminary in the United States. After four years, he returned to England where he had been appointed Barbour Professor of Systematic Theology at Westminster College, Cambridge in 1935. He was additionally the Norris-Hulse Professor of Divinity at the University of Cambridge (1949–1960) and a Fellow of Peterhouse, Cambridge (1950–1960). He retired in 1960, was appointed Emeritus Professor by Westminster College, and continued to preach into old age.
Richard Rodney Kerswell FRS is a British fluid mechanics scientist and the G. I. Taylor Professor of Fluid Mechanics. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 2012.
