A Prince Among Islands is a television programme about Prince Charles' visit to Berneray.
In 1987, Charles, Prince of Wales, visited Berneray in the Outer Hebrides, for a week to learn about crofting. [1] During his stay, he planted and lifted potatoes, cut peat, helped dip sheep, and planted trees on the 92-acre (370,000 m2) arable croft. The Prince required that the island's inhabitants maintain his privacy from the press. He returned in 1999, when he joined the 140 residents for the official opening of the £7 million causeway to North Uist. [1]
The programme portrays his relationship with the island of Berneray. It was produced by Grampian Television, presented by Selina Scott and broadcast on 10 May 1992 throughout the ITV network. [2] Music for the programme was written and performed by Capercaillie and released at the time on an EP which peaked at number 39 in the UK Singles Chart the week after the programme was broadcast. [3] It was later included on the 1995 reissue of their album The Blood Is Strong . [4]

Eriskay, from the Old Norse for "Eric's Isle", is an island and community council area of the Outer Hebrides in northern Scotland with a population of 143, as of the 2011 census. It lies between South Uist and Barra and is connected to South Uist by a causeway which was opened in 2001. In the same year Ceann a' Ghàraidh in Eriskay became the ferry terminal for travelling between South Uist and Barra. The Caledonian MacBrayne vehicular ferry travels between Eriskay and Ardmore in Barra. The crossing takes around 40 minutes.

Capercaillie is a Scottish folk band, founded in 1984 by Donald Shaw and led by Karen Matheson, and which performs traditional Gaelic and contemporary songs in English. The group adapts traditional Gaelic music and traditional lyrics with modern production techniques and instruments such as electric guitar and bass guitar, though rarely synthesizers or drum machines. Capercaillie demonstrate "astonishing musical dexterity" and feature "the peerless voice of co-founder Karen Matheson. Universally recognised as one of the finest Gaelic singers alive today".

Charles Paul Trippy III is an American musician, vlogger and internet personality based in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a member of Bradenton-based rock band We the Kings. Trippy recorded his first album with We the Kings, titled Somewhere Somehow in 2013. The album peaked at no. 44 on Billboard 200. He is also the creator of Internet Killed Television, a web series aired on YouTube.
