Aarhus is the second-largest city in Denmark and the seat of Aarhus municipality. It is located on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula, in the geographical centre of Denmark, 187 kilometres (116 mi) northwest of Copenhagen and 289 kilometres (180 mi) north of Hamburg, Germany. The inner urban area contains 273,077 inhabitants and the municipal population is 340,421. Aarhus is the central city in Business Region Aarhus and in the East Jutland metropolitan area, which had a total population of 1.378 million in 2016.

The New York Yacht Club (NYYC) is a private social club and yacht club based in New York City and Newport, Rhode Island. It was founded in 1844 by nine prominent sportsmen. The members have contributed to the sport of yachting and yacht design. As of 2001, the organization was reported to have about 3,000 members. Membership in the club is by invitation only. Its officers include a commodore, vice-commodore, rear-commodore, secretary and treasurer.
The Dragon is a one-design keelboat designed by Norwegian Johan Anker in 1929. In 1948 the Dragon became an Olympic Class, a status it retained until the Munich Olympics in 1972. The Dragon's long keel and elegant metre-boat lines remain unchanged, but today Dragons are constructed using the latest technology to make the boat durable and easy to maintain. GRP construction was introduced in 1973 and the rigging has been regularly updated.
The RS Feva is a two-person sailing dinghy designed by Paul Handley in 2002. It is manufactured and distributed by RS Sailing. The RS Feva is an International Sailing Federation (ISAF) International Class, a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Supported Junior Class, and has been selected by the Dansk Sejlunion and Norges Seilforbund for major sailing growth projects.
The International J/80 is a fixed keel one-design sportsboat certified for offshore sailing, normally crewed by 3 to 5 people. As well as its mainsail & headsail, the J/80 has a 65 m2 (700 sq ft) gennaker for downwind sailing, which when the wind rises over 15 knots gets the boat on the plane downwind.
The Britannia Yacht Club (BYC) is a private social club, yacht club and tennis club based in Britannia, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1887 by a group of cottagers.
The 2018 Vintage Yachting Games was be the third post-Olympic multi-class sailing event for discontinued Olympic and Paralympic Classes. The event was be held from 16–22 September 2018 on Øresund, Copenhagen in Denmark. The organization of this event was executed by a joint venture of the Kongelig Dansk Yachtklub and the Hellerup Sejlklub. The Vintage Yachting Games Organization (VYGO) was the governing organization. The competition took place in 3 Vintage Yachting Classes.
The Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club, formerly the Gibraltar Yacht Club, was established by officers of the Royal Navy in 1829. It was one of the first yacht clubs founded outside of Britain. British monarchs and Gibraltarian governors have been patrons of the club; the first visit by a reigning monarch was in 1954. During the latter twentieth century, the naval presence waned and the membership of locals dominated. The club's sailing school was established in 2001, accredited as a teaching facility in 2004, and became a testing centre in 2010. The reclamation projects in the middle section of Gibraltar Harbour necessitated the club's move from 26 Queensway to temporary premises. A new facility is under construction.
The Nordic Folkboat Gold Cup is a sailing race in Nordic Folkboat held annually in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, or Germany. The cup is subject for competition between yacht clubs competed in regular fleet racing style with individual crew. If any yacht club manages to win the cup for six times, the club wins it to keep it forever. It has been conquered forever three times, by Kjøbenhavns Amatør-Sejlklub in 1974 and by Kerteminde Sejlklub in 1982 and 1994. Luckily both yacht clubs have donated the cup back to continue the tradition of the prestigious cup. With the lack of a World Championships, the Gold Cup is the most prestigious event in the class.
Marselisborg is a small borough of Aarhus, Denmark. Being small and situated just south of Frederiksbjerg, Marselisborg is often considered part of Frederiksbjerg.
Sailing Aarhus is a non-profit, sport event organization and the largest organization for water sports in Denmark with 3000 members. The mission statement is to promote and encourage sailing by attracting and organizing regattas, events and related social activities. The organization has and will host a number of European and world championships in different ship classes of the International Sailing Federation. Headquarters is located in the sports-political centre in Idrættens Hus Vest at the Stadium of Aarhus.

The school offers educational programmes in business and management on a secondary level to post-primary youth, Higher Commercial Examination Programme (HHX) and supplementary courses for adults seeking to maintain qualifications. Last but not least Aarhus Business College has two new types of educations called EUX Business and EUD Business. EUX is an education that combines a 2-year secondary education with a 2-year internship in a company, and EUD is 1 year in school and a 2-year internship in a company. It is an independent self-owned institution under the Danish government, managed by a board composed of members from the business community in conjunction with a rector that oversees day-to-day operations. The school is located on three addresses in Aarhus: Campus Sønderhøj in Viby J and the two campuses of HHX in Risskov and Viby J.

Marselisborg Yacht Harbour is a marina located in Aarhus, Denmark. The marina has been in operation since 1991 and is situated adjacent to Tangkrogen on the south side of the Port of Aarhus, It includes restaurants, cafes, a hotel and a number of sports clubs and sailing schools.
DGI-Huset or DGI Huset Aarhus is a sports center located in Aarhus, Denmark. Parts of the buildings are historic, built in 1910 as part of the Aarhus Central Workshops for the Danish national railway company DSB. In 1990, DSB closed and sold their repair facilities to Aarhus Municipality and in 1997 the sports organization of DGI bought the building. An extensive renovation and construction project was completed on 11 October 2003, including new extensions. The buildings now serves as the primary facility for the sports organization Danske Gymnastik- & Idrætsforeninger in Aarhus, featuring a number of sports facilities, conference rooms. It is also home to some local sports clubs. The organization DGI-Århusegnen, the local chapter of the national organization DGI, took initiative to establish the sports center in the building.
Langenæs Park is a public park in the Langenæs neighborhood in the Aarhus C district in Aarhus, Denmark. The park is situated west of the Frederiksbjerg neighborhood along the curved street Langenæs Allé to the south and the AArhus rail yard to the north. Langenæs Park is one of the largest parks in Aarhus and is composed of mainly landscaped lawns with trees scattered throughout along with a large section dedicated to sports. Facilities include soccer fields, a disc gold field, picnic areas and a paved running track. Langenæs Park was established in connection with the development of the Langenæs neighborhood in the 1970s and is today the primary recreational spot in the area along with Frederiksbjerg Bypark to the west and the Rehabilitation PArk to the south. The park is owned by Aarhus Municipality and is managed by the municipal department Natur og Miljø and can be rented for public events.
