Absent Elk are a British pop rock band who formed in 2008. [1] They have released two singles to date, and released their first album in October 2009. Their cover version of Girls Aloud's "The Loving Kind", which was posted on YouTube, became a small phenomenon and led to them being invited to support Girls Aloud on the first leg of their Out of Control Tour in spring 2009. [2] The band's name comes from their Norwegian influence, as the band's lead vocalist, Kjetil Mørland, is from Norway, whom he represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 alongside Debrah Scarlett. [1]

History

In 2008, the band supported headlining acts The Script [3] and The Hoosiers, [4] and in 2009 they were invited to support Girls Aloud on the aforementioned tour. The band released "Sun & Water" in May 2009 and toured the UK the following month. Their debut album, Caught in the Headlights, was released in October 2008.

The Out of Control Tour was the fifth concert tour by British-Irish girl group Girls Aloud. It supported their fifth studio album Out of Control. Initially, just ten dates in bigger arenas were announced in November 2008. Due to demand, more dates were added. Girls Aloud performed thirty-two dates across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The tour commenced on 24 April 2009 at the Manchester Evening News Arena, with the final show on 6 June 2009 in Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.

Filthy Dukes are a synthpop band from London, England. The band is composed of Olly Dixon, Tim Lawton and Mark Ralph. Having been active since 2005, the band released their debut single "Tupac Robot Club Rock" on Fiction Records. The track features vocals by Philadelphian rap group Plastic Little. Their debut album, Nonsense in the Dark, was released on Monday 16 March 2009 with the track Messages receiving a lot of airplay. It was later released as a single.

In Vain is a progressive death metal band from Kristiansand in Norway. Their music can be described as melodic extreme metal, and it is composed by their guitarist Johnar Håland. The band has released four albums, and toured Europe with Solefald in 2013 and My Silent Wake in 2010. In Vain has also played concerts in Norway, and also played at the Inferno Metal Festival in 2013.
