Air Poland Sp. z o.o. (formerly Air Italy Polska Sp. z o.o.) was a charter airline founded in 2007 and was based in Warsaw, Poland. [1] A former subsidiary of Air Italy, it operated charter flights on behalf of Polish tour operators to a broad range of destinations across the Mediterranean region, the Caribbean and beach resorts in Thailand and India. [2] Most flights departed from either Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport, Katowice International Airport or Poznań-Ławica Airport.

Air Poland ceased all operations and filed for bankruptcy in April 2012.

History

In April 2011 Air Italy Polska rebranded to Air Poland. It was not a part of the Air Italy Group anymore. The last owners were Mariusz Szpikowski and Dariusz Paszke.

Air Poland operated charter flights to leisure destinations in the following countries: [3]

In 2011 FlyCentralEurope announced in-cooperation with Air Italy and Hamilton (ON) airport, it will be offering new service from Hamilton to Budapest, Kraków and Prague, on board Air Italy's Boeing 767-200ER aircraft. In addition, the tour operator also chartered Air Italy for 2 weekly ChicagoKraków service. The Boeing 767-200ER would have been transferred to Air Italy Polska. These flights never took off and were cancelled as of 19 May 2011.

Some of its operations were carried out by the old Air Italy under the Meridiana brand. It was owned by Qatar Airways through AQA Holding (49%) and Alisarda S.p.A. (51%), who rebranded the airline as the new Air Italy effective 1 March 2018.

MyTravel Airways Limited was a British scheduled and charter airline with headquarters in Manchester, England. It operated worldwide holiday charter services mainly for its parent company, the MyTravel Group. The airline merged with Thomas Cook Airlines UK Limited in 2008 and was renamed Thomas Cook Airlines Limited.

Air Italy S.p.A., operating as Air Italy was an Italian airline, headquartered in Milan. Using wet-leased aircraft from Boeing, it operated from 2005 to 2018, later as the main airline of Air Italy Group together with two other subsidiaries, Air Italy Egypt and Air Italy Polska, which both later ceased operation. After 2011, Air Italy was a fully integrated subsidiary of Meridiana, then known as Meridiana fly, and continued its operation under the Meridiana Brand but keeping its own AOC. On 28 February 2018, Air Italy reorganised with Meridiana to create the new Air Italy under the new ownership of Meridiana's parent company, AQA Holding.

OLT Express Poland was a Polish charter airline, formally known as Yes Airways. On 31 July 2012 it suspended all charter services, less than a week after the scheduled sister airline OLT Express Regional cancelled all its services. Stranded customers were returned home on LOT services. All leased aircraft were repossessed by lessors, and even some wet lease pilots were released back to their employer airlines. Its sister airline, OLT Express Regional, filed for bankruptcy on 27 July 2012 after its licence was suspended by the Polish Aviation Authority.

Eurolot S.A. was a Polish regional airline based in Warsaw. Apart from its own flights under the eurolot.com brand, it operated short-haul flights for LOT Polish Airlines, as well as ad hoc charter flights. Its main base was Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport, whilst its own flights centre on its hubs at John Paul II Kraków Airport and Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport. The airline had its head office in the LOT Polish Airlines headquarters in Warsaw. Eurolot ended operations on 31 March 2015. The company slogan was Polish: Zawsze z klasą, Always classy.

SprintAir S.A. is a Polish airline headquartered in Warsaw and based at Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport. It operates cargo services and passenger charter flights.

Enter Air Sp. z o.o. is a Polish charter airline with its head office in Warsaw, Poland, and main base at Warsaw Chopin Airport and Katowice Airport. It operates holiday and charter flights out of its hubs in Poznań, Warsaw and Wrocław.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">LOT Polish Airlines Flight 16</span> 2011 aviation accident

LOT Polish Airlines Flight 16 was a Boeing 767 passenger jet on a scheduled service from Newark, United States, to Warsaw, Poland, that on 1 November 2011 made a successful gear-up emergency landing at Warsaw Chopin Airport, after its landing gear failed to extend. All 231 aboard survived without serious injuries. A leak in one of the aircraft's hydraulic systems occurred shortly after takeoff, resulting in the loss of all of the hydraulic fluid supplying the primary landing gear system.

Smartwings Poland Sp. z o.o., formerly Travel Service Polska Sp. z o.o., is a Polish charter airline based in Warsaw. The airline commenced operations in May 2012 from Warsaw Chopin Airport, and is a subsidiary airline of Czech airline Smartwings. As part of a rebranding exercise in 2018, Smartwings Poland, along with other companies in the Travel Service group, had their name changed from Travel Service to Smartwings and their aircraft repainted.

Small Planet Airlines Sp. z o. o. was a Polish leisure charter airline and a subsidiary of now-defunct Small Planet Airlines from Lithuania.

Eastern Airlines, LLC is an American airline founded in 2010. It operates Boeing 767s and Boeing 777s. It began as Dynamic Airways and later added "International" to its name to reflect its transition from a charter airline into scheduled international services. Under the Dynamic name, the airline was headquartered in High Point, North Carolina, offering service from New York to South America. It used to operate from Fort Lauderdale, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York to the Caribbean, Cancún, and South America.

Buzz is a Polish airline headquartered in Warsaw. Formerly called Ryanair Sun, it is a subsidiary of the Irish airline company Ryanair Holdings and a sister airline to Ryanair DAC, Ryanair UK, Malta Air and Lauda Europe.
