Akuse is a town in the Lower Manya Krobo district of the Eastern Region of Ghana situated between Tema and Akosombo.

It is a fast growing community thanks to a number of companies operating from the area which is attracting skill and capital.

The community hosts a number of public institutions as well including Ghana Prisons, Ghana Health Service, Meteorological Services and Ghana Police Service.

The Kpong Hydro Generation Plant is located in Akuse and managed by the Volta River Authority (VRA). [1] [2]

The Eastern Region is located in south Ghana and is one of the sixteen administrative regions of Ghana. Ethnic Ga family names (surnames) include Nikoi, Amon, Kotey, Kotie, Adei, Kutorkor, Oblitey, Lartey, Nortey, Aryee, Poku and Lamptey. The following are names derived from the ethnic Dangme and common among the Ningos Nartey, Tetteh, Kwei, Kweinor, Kwetey, Narteh, Narh, Dugbatey, Teye, Martey, Addo, Siaw, Saki, Amanor, Djangba. These are aligned to the ethnic Ga as well: Lomotey, Tetteh, Ankrah, Tetteyfio, Laryea, Ayitey, Okai, Bortey, Quaye, Quaynor, Ashong, Kotei, Sowah, Odoi, Ablor, Adjetey, Dodoo, Darku and Quartey.

Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988, which was created from the former Kaoga District Council. The district assembly was located in the eastern part of Eastern Region and had Odumase as its capital town.

The Lower Manya Krobo constituency is in the Eastern region of Ghana. The current member of Parliament for the constituency is Michael Teye Nyuanu. He was elected on the ticket of the on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress and won a majority of 4,697 votes more than candidate closest in the race, to win the constituency election to become the MP. He had earlier represented the constituency in the 4th Republican parliament.

Asesewa is a small town and the district capital of Upper Manya Krobo district in the Eastern region of southern Ghana. Asesewa is a historic trading post. It has a mix of cultures who are from all over Ghana. It is located about 45 km from the regional capital of Eastern region, Koforidua.

Agormanya is a small town in the Lower Manya Krobo district of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Krobo Odumase is a town and capital of Lower Manya Krobo Municipal District in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School was formerly located here.

The Krobo people are an ethnic group in Ghana. They are grouped as part of Ga-Adangbe ethnolinguistic group and they are also the largest group of the seven Dangme ethnic groups of Southeastern Ghana. The Krobo are a farming people who occupy Accra Plains, Akuapem Mountains and the Afram Basin.

Docia Angelina Naki Kisseih (1919–2008) was a Ghanaian nurse, midwife and educator. She was the first Ghanaian to be the country's Chief Nursing Officer after British colonial rule ended. She was influential in pioneering developments in nursing and nursing education, and in her fifties she began university lecturing while studying to become the first nurse in Ghana with a doctoral degree. Oklemekuku, Nene Azzu Mate Kole II,, known in private life as Frederick Lawer Mate Kole was a Ghanaian paramount chief and statesman who served as the fourth monarch or king, Konor of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area in southeastern Ghana and reigned from 1939 to 1990.

Nene Sakite II is the fifth and reigning Konor, or paramount chief, of the Manya Krobo, enstooled in 1999. His predecessor, Azzu Mate Kole II who ruled Manya Krobo from 1939 until his death in 1990. There was an interregnum in Manya Krobo between 1990 and 1999 due to chieftaincy succession disputes.

The Ngmayem Festival is an annual harvest festival celebrated by the chiefs and peoples of Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The festival was established by Nene Azu Mate Kole in 1944 to replace the already existing festival called "Yeliyem", which literary means 'eating of yam'. It is usually celebrated in the month of October in Dodowa and also the Shai in the towns of Somanya and Odumase. The festival is celebrated for one week, mostly from the last two Sundays of the month of October.

Michael Nyuanu Teye was a member of the Second, Third and Fourth parliament of the Fourth Republic for the Lower Manya constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He is also known as MTN.

Dedo Difie Agyarko-Kusi is a Ghanaian politician. She served as Ghana's Ambassador to South Korea. She is a member of the New Patriotic Party. She is the sister of the Emmanuel Kwabena Kyeremateng Agyarko and Boakye Agyarko. She once served as a translator of French and Spanish for UNESCO.
