Alex Menglet, born Alexei Menglet in Moscow USSR, is an actor who has found success working in Australia.
Menglet is best known for his roles as chef Ray "Gay Ray" Proctor in the 1984 season of Prisoner and more recently as Zoran Baranoff in the SBS series Kick . He has also appeared on Australian television series, Skyways , The Sullivans , Cop Shop and Carson's Law [1] and the UKTV mini-series False Witness . He has also appeared in the films Sky Pirates (1986), The Still Point (1986), Holidays on the River Yarra (1991) and He Died with a Felafel in His Hand (2001). More recently, Menglet appeared as Joan Ferguson's father and fencing instructor, Ivan Ferguson in Wentworth .

Menglet has two daughters, Denisia and Katerina.

Doug Mountjoy was a Welsh snooker player from Tir-y-Berth, Gelligaer, Wales. He was a member of the professional snooker circuit from the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, and remained within the top 16 of the world rankings for 11 consecutive years. He began his professional snooker career by taking the 1977 Masters, which he entered as a reserve player. He won both the 1978 UK Championship and the 1979 Irish Masters. Mountjoy reached the final of the 1981 World Snooker Championship where he was defeated by Steve Davis. He was also runner-up at the 1985 Masters losing to Cliff Thorburn, but by 1988 he had dropped out of the top 16.

He Died with a Felafel in His Hand is a 2001 Australian comedy-drama film directed by Richard Lowenstein and starring Noah Taylor. The film draws on the 1994 memoir of the same name and consists of a series of vignettes from a young man's experience of sharing accommodation with a variety of characters. There also exists a graphic adaptation of the novel.
Sky Pirates is a 1986 Australian adventure film written and produced by John D. Lamond, and directed by Colin Eggleston. The film was inspired by Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), as well as borrowing liberally from The Philadelphia Experiment (1984), The Deer Hunter (1978), Dirty Harry (1971) and Mad Max (1979).

On 10 September 1985, the Welsh and Scottish national teams played each other during the qualifying stages of the 1986 FIFA World Cup at Ninian Park, the home of Cardiff City. The game was both teams' final match of the qualifying tournament, and both were still able to gain a place at the finals in Mexico; Wales needed to win the game, while Scotland knew that a draw would be enough.
