Allan Bower (born March 7, 1995) is an American artistic gymnast. A member of the United States men's national gymnastics team, he represented the United States at the 2018 American Cup and the 2017 Cottbus World Cup. [1] [2] Domestically, he finished second in the all-around at the 2017 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships and third at the 2018 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. [3] [4] Bower was a member of the Oklahoma Sooners men's gymnastics team from 2014 to 2017, [5] winning three National team titles with the Sooners. [6]

Personal life and education

Bower was born on March 7, 1995, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to David and Jane Bower (née Clemons). His mother was a gymnast at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, competing for the Nebraska Cornhuskers women's gymnastics team where she became the 1990 Big 8 all-around champion. [7] He has two younger siblings: Allison and Alex. Allison is a member of the Missouri Tigers gymnastics team, graduating in 2019. [8]

Bower grew up in Chandler, Arizona; he graduated from Basha High School in 2013. At the University of Oklahoma, he majored in Biology and graduated in 2017. Bower will start medical school in Oklahoma Fall 2023.[ needs update ]

Artistic gymnastics is a type of gymnastics in which athletes compete with short routines on various equipment, including bars, beams, rings, pommel horses, vaulting tables, and on a sprung floor. Gymnastics is well-established in the United States, where available programs range from recreational classes, casual summer camps, and children's leagues; to highly competitive collegiate leagues and four national teams. Although this is not unique to the United States, due to the physically demanding nature of the sport there are fewer options for adult gymnastics outside the elite level, although local parks and recreation departments often have limited offerings.

Trinity Lemyra Thomas is an American artistic gymnast and a four-time National Team member (2016–20). She was a member of the gold medal-winning team at the 2018 Pan American Gymnastics Championships, where she also won silver medals in the individual all-around and on the uneven bars, as well as the bronze medalist on balance beam and floor exercise at the 2017 national championships. She was a member of the Florida Gators women's gymnastics team. One of the most successful NCAA gymnasts in history, Thomas finished her collegiate career with a record-tying 28 perfect-10 scores and a record-breaking five Gym Slams.

Emily Paige Gaskins is an American artistic gymnast. An elite gymnast since 2013, Gaskins was a member of the U.S. Junior National team for three years until 2016. She also made the Senior National Team in 2016.

Maile O'Keefe is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the U.S. National Team and is the 2016 and 2017 U.S. Junior National Champion. She is the 2023 NCAA all-around champion as well as a 4x NCAA event champion.

Jordan Skylar Bowers is an American artistic gymnast and was part of the United States women's national gymnastics team. She won the junior all-around gold medals at the 2018 Pacific Rim Championships and the 2018 Junior Pan American Championships. She is currently competing for the Oklahoma Sooners in NCAA gymnastics.
