Almost Monday (stylized in all lowercase) is an American indie pop trio based in San Diego, California. Their debut extended play, Don't Say You're Ordinary, was released on October 9, 2020, and followed by a second, Til the End of Time, on July 9, 2021.

History

Dawson Daugherty, Cole Clisby, and Luke Fabry met while in high school in San Diego's North County area. [1] Fabry and Daugherty grew up together and were longtime friends, and Daugherty met Clisby through surfing. [2] [3] Daughtery and Fabry attended Point Loma Nazarene University, and Clisby went to the University of California, San Diego. [4] They initially wanted to call their band The Mondays, but the name was taken; they decided on Almost Monday as an alternative. [5] [6]

Their first single, "Broken People", was released on April 22, 2019. [7] It reached number 27 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay charts. [6] On May 29, 2020, the band released the single "Come On Come On". [8] Their debut EP, Don't Say You're Ordinary, was recorded in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn, and released on Hollywood Records on October 9, 2020. [1] [9] The EP was produced by Mark Needham and Simon Oscroft, and mixed by Mark Needham. [3] On January 26, 2021, they released the single "Live Forever". [10] On April 8, 2022, they released the single "Sunburn" and on June 3, 2022, they released the single "Sun Keeps on Shining." [11] In 2022, they toured with Joywave and The Driver Era. [11] They released the single "Cough Drops" on October 5, 2022. On February 24, 2023, they released the single "Only Wanna Dance" after finishing their North American tour. [12]

In the summer of 2024, they are set to open for select dates on AJR's tour in support of their fifth studio album The Maybe Man (2023). [13]

It was written by Cole and Brian Bates, with production being handled by the former alongside Anthony Bell, Greg Edwards, and Ron Fair. The song was released on February 5, 2021, through Hearts and Stars and BMG, following its preview during her and Ashanti's joint appearance on the Verzuz webcast battle series in January 2021.
